2 Week Update

Hello -

I just wanted to give an update since I've asked lots of questions

and was concerned about my son having constipation with the AFP Pep

about a week ago. He was also complaining about his tummy hurting.

Zachary is up to 1 cap of NF/day, 1 Cap of SCD ZP per meal and 3/4

Cap of AFP Pep per meal. He is no longer experiencing constipation.

He had a very yucky " clearing out " of his bowels a couple of days

after I had posted about the constipation and now he is going again

every day and his bowels seem to be improving and his tummy is no

longer hurting.

Zachary is not quite himself, but only in subtle ways that no one

else would notice, so I'm hoping it's still an adjustment from the

enzymes. I can't say I've noticed any major improvements except that

I think his BM's may actually wind up better with the enzymes though

it's still too soon to say. Zachary is no longer considered on the

autism spectrum at this point, so the only area left for him to

improve in is with his language skills. Hopefully, that will happen

in time. Right now, I'd be thrilled just to get off of SCD and back

on a gluten free diet!

Yes, best suggestion is to flat out tell her no. You have no choice right now, you need to follow your doctor's instructions. Just ask her if she realizes you would harm yourself by going against your doctor's advice.

Thing is, if you cheat on the post op diet with a band you risk losing your band to a slip 6 months or a year or more down the road. If you cheat on the post op diet with a sleeve you risk your life. Period.

Hi everyone,

I am 2 weeks out from surgery tomorrow. I have lost 19 pounds! I was

shocked when I stepped on those scales! I never dreamed I had lost

that much. I know it will slow down now, but that is a good start.

I am doing good. I have not been sick at all and have tolerated

everything very well. I only got nauseous 1 morning while drinking a

protein shake. I stopped drinking it and it passed right away.

I do have an issue that I am dealing with, though. My mother-in-law

keeps inviting us to eat lunch at her house or go out to eat. I am

still on thick liquids and just want to eat at home. I have told her

that I can only eat thick liquids and she says I can eat a " little

something " . What do I do? This is nothing new. She has insisted on

feeding me for the entire time my husband and I have been married....

21 years. But, this is different. This time I physically cannot cheat

because it could be harmful to my stomach. Any ideas?

Thanks
