Guest guest
Nell, What a GREAT progress report! Thanks for sharing. What made you start to treat for viral issues in the first place? I'm wondering if my son also has viral issues and am thinking of treating him for viruses. I thought I had read that OCD type behaviors can be linked to viruses??? Thanks again for sharing your good news! > n (now almost 7) was in 's viral enzyme study last summer, > with great results. Guest guest
some childrens' autistic symptoms are viral related. some are not. i was on an immune/viral type protocol for three years with very little progress. my son's issues are not viral in nature but GUT, GUT, GUT! he has always been a gut kid and that is what i am currently working on. so many things can suppress the immune system: metals, leaky gut, etc. i have to clean up my son's gut issues first (not to mention chronic constipation). the best thing to do is like the prev post mentioned is get tested to see if your child has viral issues. vicki
Guest guest
What made you > start to treat for viral issues in the first place? I had a viral panel done through Immunosciences, on the advice of a DAN doc. At that point I had no idea he had a viral problem, but his Epstein-Barr titer was 4X the reference range. He did get sick a lot when he was younger. And I haven't verified this, but I heard yesterday that a bad reaction to prednisone is an indication of immunity problems, and he definitely went beserk on prednisone, fwiw. During last summer's treatment I ran out of Virastop for about a week and he developed a host of symptoms I'd never seen before -- very OCD, both motor and verbal, extremely hyper and unfocussed. When I put him back on Virastop those symptoms went away and haven't come back, so I'm thinking they are connected to the virus somehow. Guest guest
Can you elaborate on what you mean by a gut child Behaviors, etc so I can learn/compare. Thanks Aileen > some childrens' autistic symptoms are viral related. some are not. i was > on an immune/viral type protocol for three years with very little progress. > my son's issues are not viral in nature but GUT, GUT, GUT! he has always been > a gut kid and that is what i am currently working on. > > so many things can suppress the immune system: metals, leaky gut, etc. i > have to clean up my son's gut issues first (not to mention chronic > constipation). > > the best thing to do is like the prev post mentioned is get tested to see if > your child has viral issues. vicki > > >
Guest guest
a child with gut issues includes: leaky gut, parasites, yeast, yeast and more yeast, bad bacteria, etc. there is a definite " gut-brain " connection. there are a few good books out there: " the second brain " by dr gershon; " gut and psychology syndrome " by dr campbell-McBride). also, dr wakefield's work speaks to the gut problems in autistic kids. my son in particular, major yeast issues, leaky gut, parasites, chronic constipation, etc. causes major stimming, behaviors (aggressive), ocd, etc. vicki

Guest guest
I will look into these refs. thanks. I know my child has gut issues. Not sure about Viral- What does the test and an anti viral protocol involve. Also what does OCD mean? I'm sure it is something obvious but it is Friday evening and my brain cells have gone for a lie down! Also where can I read about viral issues - I'm a bit confused as I thought all our kids had gut issues and are the behaviours difference. i.e gut behaviours and viral behaviours? Thanks Aileen > n (now almost 7) was in 's viral enzyme study last summer, > with great results. Guest guest
> -Dana about OLE, Do you give one whole cap all at once? Yes, or more than one capsule, depending on the child and why I am giving it. >>and what do > you mix it with. I give whole capsules to three of my kids, the other one wants it mixed with peanut butter and honey. Dana
