It depends on which foods your child has trouble digesting. For my son, he tolerated basically no foods, but he had MORE problems with phenols than with gluten/casein. Guest guest Posted August 8, 2004 Report Share Posted August 8, 2004 Another reason that comes to mind with general malabsorption and leaky gut is that the body 1) had difficulty digesting all foods in general and getting nutrients out of them; and, 2) any undigested food combined with leaky gut means that incompletely digested food may leak through to the blood stream, causing allergic reactions, or general immune system strain. We are still gluten, casein, soy, corn and egg free (will probably get to testing them all), but have seen tremendous benefit using both zyme prime and afp peptizyde.
