Guest guest
Hi My 3 year 11month old autistic son, .. who uptill now would go for pee and potty on his own suddenly stopped going from 3days ago. He never had accidents for 4months and suddenly he is peeing in his underwear. I just am not able to find the cause of this regression. We gave him Prevacid for couple of days, but recently we started him back on Gluten(still CF and SF since he is higly allergic on RAST tests). He is 4 years and 30pounds, so wanted to feed him as much as we can(his wrist is as thick as my finger) 4days ago he had a terrible episode at night, where neither me nor my wife could hold him in our arms, he was crying wailing, jumping, climbing, a total hysterical episode. From the next day onwards he seems to be peeing in his underwear. Could it be related to Gluten, the episode or Prevacid? The other thing, is recently we have started him on sensory diet. Could it be because of him losing the sensations. Or is it BEHAVIOURAL ? we have recenlty started Claritin(for improving his appetite). He is not taking anyother supplements or medications. He is an extremely hyper kid(not sure where he gets the energy from. And today he had a poopy accident too.It is freaking us out. All Help is greatly appreciated. Thanks Raj
Guest guest
All I can contribute is that my son went PSYCHO on Claritin. He was on it when we flew from Newark to Miami last year. People on the plane actually CLAPPED when we landed. Hand to God. > > > Hi > > My 3 year 11month old autistic son, .. who uptill now would go for > pee and potty on his own suddenly stopped going from 3days ago. Guest guest
Wow : my son has no problem with Claritin at all. They are all so different. I give you credit for doing the plane thing. I have not yet gotten my courage up. I think if there was a problem I would jump. We have resorted to going places that we can drive to. Including: Florida from New York. He was great in the car for all those hours. (21) of course with a stop overnight. Loved the whole Disney Experience. Guest guest
Yeah, the plane thing can really be tough, but since he was six weeks old, we've really had no choice. All of our family is out of state, etc. Some tips for travelers, if this isn't too off-topic: I call the airlines and have found that some of them (not all of them) will really work with you to help out. We ALWAYS request the bulk head seats, those first row seats that have the wall in front. You get more wiggle room, and there's no one in front of you to kick or poke at (my son, not me, though some people's attitudes certainly makes it hard for me, too, not to kick!) About a week before the flight I get out all of our airplane toys, most of which are hidden away for this purpose. We play act with the little people, and have them get on the plane and fly overhead, lots of great sound effects. He loves this part: I act like I'm making the announcements by covering my mouth with my hand, " ladies and gentleman, kkffffppp, please fasten your seatbelts for take-off, kkffffppp, enjoy your flight, " etc. We pass out pretzels and such to the little people... And of course, ALL NEW GREAT TOYS FOR THE FLIGHT!!! So far he has loved it. There's so much to do and see, he loves watching the suitcases being loaded, and the people scurrying around the runway, and other planes taking off... Our longest flight has been three hours, and we don't attempt that one very often. Your son is a trooper about the car! would actually prefer a plane. > Wow : my son has no problem with Claritin at all. They are all so > different. I give you credit for doing the plane thing. You might want to remove it again, see if it helps. > we have recenlty started Claritin(for improving his appetite). > He is not taking anyother supplements or medications. Guest guest
Would activated charcoal help? I've never used it before, but just got some. It's 280mg caps. Is one enough? > > My daughter has been wetting her pants and occasionally pooping them too. She's almost 4 yrs old. I started her on biotin a couple of weeks ago, she now takes 300 mcg 4x a day (1200mcg total). She's been on trienza and no phenol for a couple of months, so I have been giving her new foods too. Her behavior has been great lately, and it seems that the biotin is lifting some of the " brain fog " she seemed to have. I've had to put her back in pullups at bedtime because she has been wetting every night too. What could be causing the accidents? Do I need to increase the biotin? Or try something else? > > > Yeast die off can cause this, so it might be that. > > Dana >

Try giving one capsule approx 45 minutes after the anti-fungal. If the wetting is caused by die off, it should help. Dana
