Guest guest
Yes but I wouldn't call it a side effect - the Pep is merely doing its job. Withdrawal reactions are quite common in the first few weeks, we had hyper too as the pep was also hleping to control the yeast and the hyper was as a result of die off. These issueds usually resolve inside 3-4 weeks, the hyper took a little longer with us but the yeast problem was severe. Did you start with a full capsule? If the feelings too much for him or for you then reduce the dose a bit and build up again to say half a cap, then go for more doses and when he's settled out go for higher doses with each meal or food. Good luck, keep posting if you have concerns and post with good news too Mandi in UK > Anybody experience side effects when first introducing Peptizide? > We're seeing something similar to a yeast die-off effect. He's a little hyper and we're seeing an increase in his verbal stim. Yes, common enough with die-off (which Peptizyde can faciliate). Here is a link to common adjustment effects and what to do. Most resolve by the third week (with yeast, it might be a little longer depending on how severe the yeast is): http://www.enzymestuff.com/discussionadjustments.htm >>>He's 4 years old and we're trying one capsule with breakfast so far. You might try doing 1/2 capsule with each meal, and then gradually go up to 1 capsule at each meal. This would give more consistent enzyme action on the yeast/food over the course of the day even if the initial dose is less. With a full capsule at one meal you might be getting more abrupt changes (enzymes whack yeast...yeast recovers at subsequent meals, then enzymes whack yeast again....). With every growth spurt and abrupt die-off round, by-products are released so your child's system is more up and down as it tries to stabilize. . Guest guest
, Do you recommend 1/2 capsule because he's four? Would you still start a 13 yo with a 1/2 capsule or would one be better? I just got my first bottles of Peptizyde and HN-Zyme Prime. I'm going to start with Peptizyde first. No, 1/2 because the person is new to enzymes, whether young or old. It depends more on the state of the gut than age. If 1/2 seems too 'strong' then you can go to 1/8 capsule - just sprinkle some enzymes out, it doesn't have to be exactly 1/8 of a capsule. When you start the Zyme Prime, do it the same way....with 1/2 capsule first for a few days, and then up to 1 full capsule. .

It might not be the enzyme, but the effect of the foods given at the other meals. Dana
