Guest guest
My son just started enzymes. He is currently under DAN protocol, taking multi prong TMG supplement with Methyl B12 injections. The doctor started us on Digest All by Integrative Theraputics. The directions say 1 with each meal. I started him with 2 capsules yesterday. My son's behavior has spiked significantly - nervousness, pinching, stimming, tantruming. He threw a glass at the door last night, shattering it. My son was responding very well and had calmed significantly prior to enzymes. It is hard to handle his behavior spike which is certainly related to the digestive enzymes. Should I be giving him a smaller dose to begin with - gradually working him up? I gave him 1 with breakfast and lunch yesterday. I only gave him 1 with breakfast today. How long can I expect this type of reaction? I realize this is something we probably have to endure. Any advice, encouragement? My husband and I both need some encouragement to stick with it. Thanks, Tracey juditht@...
Guest guest
Wow, I am sorry to hear that your son has had such a negative reaction. We just started Houston Enzymes yesterday and I have been holding my breath. I have read that initial side effects can be strong. We started off with 1/2 capsule with each meal yesterday and he had quite a lot of gas. So today I have only been giving him about 1/8 capsule with each meal. He has not had the gas as bad today. Good luck and hang in there! My prayers go out to your family tonight. > > > My son just started enzymes. This may be withdrawal/adjustment, but the severity sounds like maybe he does not tolerate this enzyme product. What are the specific ingredients? >>Should I > be giving him a smaller dose to begin with - gradually working him > up? That might help. >> I gave him 1 with breakfast and lunch yesterday. I only gave him > 1 with breakfast today. How long can I expect this type of reaction? If it is withdrawal/adjustment, that generally goes about 3 weeks.
