Guest guest
the whole point of the enzymes was to relax the need for gfcf. also you seem to have the enzymes around the wrong way, both fillers are scd legal and the version you have, microcrystalline cellulose does not work with the majority of children, rice bran does. also zyme seems the perferred version to start. if you are familar with the scd diet at all, its guru elaine gottschall says the gfcf diet is very destructive. this is because it loads with fermenting type carbs. i would guess there are major fermentation issues and zyme will be useful. dairy intolerance cna be a side effect of this. scd science http://www.pecanbread.com/scdscience.html

This is what I'm trying to get a handle on. I like the idea of the chewable - I think my boys will cooperate with that better. My 2yo is super quick and has been having infractions left and right... - in LA
Guest guest
I don't know if this helps, but as my progress report states, there were improvements with the addition of both the AFPeptizyde and Zyme Prime. I don't have an opinion about the cellulose vs. rice bran benefits, but I know that papain and bromelain were not feasible for my son. I also didn't state, but should add that we saw great gains on the AFPeptizyde, and we are still GFCF, and have been since starting. I will challenge dairy (and some day gluten), but we haven't gotten there yet. This week I tried soy with enzymes (we also were not giving my son soy or corn), but he has a red bottom now, and softer stools, so I suspect it can't be an every day food yet. Also, 1 dose of the powder (the scant 1/4 teaspoon) is the same as a capsule dose (I have both). I did GFCF first, and while it was really hard, it got us thoroughly away from mainstream American diet (especially because we also didn't do soy or corn, and therefore couldn't buy anything pre-made). I also got very good at recognizing a food reaction and pinpointing its source. When we removed gluten, we knew right away that we were on to something major. I don't know that there's any one right way to start. It has to depend on your child and the needs of your family. I think if I knew what I know now I would have started enzymes sooner, and then experimented with food removals. I really believe that the enzymes allowed more nutritional building blocks to be available to my child's body. The healing and cognitive gains have been really spectacular. Your idea sounds good - get a plan, get your kitchen together, get your kids eating plan in order, then start the enzymes. I personally take all three enzyme products (not every one for every meal), to very good effect, and I didn't think I had any particular issues to start. If you plan to give large infractions [rather than an accidental cross-contamination or other small infraction], then you might want to give Peptizyde, at least at first. Zyme Prime has some amount of the enzyme to counteract infractions, but you would need to determine if your own child would do okay with that amount of those enzymes, or would need the stronger, larger quantity of Peptizyde. The Zyme Prime will address other potential food issues [like starches and carbs, some protein] and the No-Fenol will address fruits and other similar foods.
