Re: mouthing/licking objects

I am not sure of the cause or what stopped it but my four year old

went through a licking my hand stage. The only thing I could think

of was salt. I believe the biting down comes from being low in

zinc.

My son still chews on objects. Not as bad as when he was young. He would

chew all the wood in our home. Window sills, wood furniture. I had to hide

jewerly. He has chewed staples and paper clips. Now he chews plastic. Had

him to doctor many times to find out why. Never could answer this. It was

PICA they said. Eileen

The most common cause is zinc deficiency.

For my #3, it meant he was eating a food/supplement he did not

tolerate, or he had a yeast issue.

He might not tolerate the enzymes, or conversely he might not be

tolerating a food he is still eating.
