A recent posting about the ins and outs of clarity/cogency/conversation got

me thinking I " d ask the smart people here if anyone has had a similar

experience. When our seven-year old son was being treated for parasites, he had

a

period of his all-time greatest clarity and cogency while taking flagyl. Such

wonderful, memorable conversations, going over the past, his memories, etc. I

read up a bit about these gains some kids were having on flagyl and vancomycin

(two strong antibiotics) but all the gains were temporary--a few months in

length and all were lost after the antibiotics were stopped. Does anyone know

what's behind this? My son hasn't tested positive for Clostridium difficile

recently, which is the only theory I've ever heard posited.

I also have one other question: Is there something bad about loading on a

lot of yeast fighters at once: for instance garlic, caprylic acid, GSE, and

probiotics. To me it makes sense to get aggressive but does this somehow pave

way for bacteria issues?

Thank you again, Cammie

He probably has a very pervasive bacteria issue.

Might be a different bacteria strain.

I know that giving GSE when there was no yeast, caused a bad bacteria

problem for my son.
