Guest guest
Almost 3 months ago my 4 year old son began chewing on his shirt. He pulls it up at the neck and shoves it in his mouth. He does this non- stop throughout the day. His shirt is soaked with saliva. Is this a deficiency of something? Or an overgrowth of something else? Any suggestions as to how to deal with this are appreciated. Thanks, .

Try adding zinc and see if that helps. Can also mean he is eating a food/supplement he does not tolerate. Dana
Guest guest
My older son did this all the time. Sometimes called 'the chewies'. The kid just wants to chew and gnaw on all types of things. Our son gnawed our furniture as well. Mineral deficiencies can cause this so consider magnesium, zinc, or possibly calcium. Zinc and magnesium helped my son. You can also look at some oral sensory therapy as it helps in this area too. .
Guest guest
Hi !.......Im not sure if it is any type of defficiency..but my son is 6 and periodically during teeth growth surges..If seen Him do this..even now when he has already lost 3 of his teeth and about to loose another...for him it again seems like it was always prior a surge.....or prior a tooth coming out....I give him cold very wet wash cloths ..he loves them..plus it is an additional teeth cleanser to supplement brushing...hope this helps......blessings ....................freenow michelle garland <mngia@...> wrote: My son did the same, at the same age. When we were filling out questionaires when he was being diagnosed for ADD, that was one of the questions. I don't know what it means, but shared the same experience and would like to know more too.
