Guest guest
Hello everyone, my daughter Alana was diagnosed with autism about 1month ago. I looked into the GFCF diet and am thinking it wont be right for our family, many reasons. Alana also has turner syndrome which makes things a bit more difficult. I ordered peptizype from houston and I am waiting to start until after the holidays, fearing she may get the yeast die off symptoms etc. I found a dan dr in our city and am going to call on monday to make an appt. I would like her tested for yeast/mercury etc. any tips on starting the pepetizyde? it has some direction but Id like from your experience. She isnt on the diet, I have gave her a few gfcf foods to try and 99% of them she has tried she puked out, she does love fruit though so I am giving her more of that and less of other things, she does like the gorilla munch cereal, I tried some yeast free GFCF bread for grilled cheese and she puked it out, I am going to try the yeast kind to see if that makes a difference. What other supplements are your children on? I was looking into probiotics but houston says they have a capsule that cannot be put in food/drink etc so that is out of the question, oh yeah alana will be 3 in march. Is there probiotic powder or something I can try to hide in food or drink that anyone takes? can u let me know where? thanks I was thinking of just yogurt she likes that, but not everyday lol. I seen also that a combo of peptizyde and zyme prime usually works well together, I was gonna get both but she said to try this for the trial period and then add in the zyme peim, any tips on that? Thanks in advance for all of your help! Crystal
Guest guest
Digestive enzymes are good; just jump in. You don't have to worry about giving too much or anything like that. They are used by the body to also rid toxins and fight pathogens. Just pick a brand that sounds good to you, and try them. You'll like them. My kids only got great results, miracles in fact. I have heard of some not working because they were too gentle, and occasionally some might make one's stools too loose, and of course some claim allergies to them. At my house, upon starting a new digestive enzyme, we occasionally got symptoms the first day or two concerning someone may have been tired or hyper or something, but then all kinds of wonderful things happened. Don't worry about taking only ones for fat when eating fats or ones for carbs only when eating carbs. Just give a multi-enzyme at least twice a day. All extra enzymes will be happily used by the body and then dissipate. The only bad things I noticed is that they don't work if the diet is very bad. You still need to have a good diet. I do diet and enzymes. I know its difficult to think about the diet, but we all got used to it with terrific results. I give them on empty stomachs and everything. I never had a problem; its been a year and half now. The only problems I have had is when I forget to give them. We currently use Multi-Enzyme Formula from _www.kirkmanlabs.com_ (http://www.kirkmanlabs.com) , but _www.houstonni.com_ (http://www.houstonni.com) has chewables. I have used other brands as well, and they worked also.
