Guest guest
Something in my dd's Evening Primrose Oil (EPO)was causing her to stutter. After months of being on it everyday to help her eczema, I finally stopped it since her skin was looking so good and, surprisingly to us, her stuttering went away! In the past, before I removed Soy from her diet, she used to stutter very badly. Once I removed products that had soy in it (to help with behavioural issues), her stuttering got much better and some days she wouldn't stutter at all. We then discovered that her stuttering seemed to be food related since she normally speaks very well without some sort of infraction, but couldn't pin-point exactly what was causing it besides Soy. A while back, on this support group, somebody mentioned that Vit. E can contain soy. Does ALL Vit. E contain Soy? If so, that could be the reason why her stuttering went away after removing the EPO which this one ( " Health from the Sun " ) happens to contain Vit E. It just didn't " click " with me what I was reading on that message until after I stopped this supplement and saw great results with her speech! On the ingredients list of her EPO it lists: silica and mixed tocopherols (vitamin E). I found another EPO ( " Spring Valley " ) that doesn't seem to contain any Vit E but does contain Gelatin and Glycerin and was wondering if that is generally okay for our sensitive kids? Are there any others I could try that are helpful for anxiety and skin? Although, right now, it's not needed since I don't see any signs of anxiety (which may have been soy related too) and her skin looks great (possibly due to not swimming in the neighborhood pool that is now closed). Thank you in advance for your advice! This group has been invaluable over the years!!! Gretchen
