Guest guest
Mandi,Terri, and Dana, Thankyou for your advise. I will restart the vitamins at the weekend at a drop a time and see how she is.I've ordered the Nystatin and will give with No fenol. Presently she does not seem well, she is ranging from periods of hyperness,to beeing very spacey and at times has a fixed grin and seems to move her head around in little circles ,she is also drawing circles in the air with her fingers occassionally.Could this be some Die off,she is only taking the No fenol and a very weak solution of Acidophylus for Candida. She has also been having MB12 injections every third night, she had been on these for about 6 months and we have seen gains in her language and cognitive skills ,she had a break from these in August because of supply problems and restarted a month ago,the past few times she has been very quite and lethargic the following morning. We have been advised to continue, but I am concerned that could this be Detoxing her to quickly.I'm sorry if I have got this wrong, but as you know there is so much to learn and maybe I've got confused. She also has Epsom salt baths which she seems fine with. Thank you for any advise. Sharon

Glutathione can help with this. > She has also been having MB12 injections every third night, she had > been on these for about 6 months and we have seen gains in her > language and cognitive skills ,she had a break from these in August > because of supply problems and restarted a month ago,the past few > times she has been very quite and lethargic the following morning. Do you give B12 with folic acid? Try that and see if it helps. Dana

Katy has gone dramatically downhill. On Friday she she seemed to be having spasms, lots of involuntary movements of her mouth ,jerking her arms out and at times having to run stamping her toes and balls of her feet down, she was conscious throughout and tried to stop when I asked her to ,she also was biting herself at times .She also had a hugely distended tummy ,and had diarrhoea later in the evening, and also I think had eye pain, because she was rubbing her eyes a lot,was light senstive ,and cried when she started reading .She has also been asking to be squeezed frequently. I've stopped the B.C minerals, haven't started up on the Vits again.Could it be the Zinc in the minerals that are causing her a problem as I've read it can be an excitotoxin to some children? Could these be seizures she was having? She's never had an EEG,should I push for a neurologists opinion. I also reduced her enzymes to 1/2 doses of the Z.P,NoFenol and A.F.P as she seemed to have tummy ache, she is unable to tell me how she feels. Over the weekend she does seem a little improved ,she's not had anymore of the spasms ,just is a little jumpy, sound sensitive ,needing squeezes, slow to respond and a bit giggly. I've read so much over the weekend and feel I'm overloaded with info,I'm also very frightened, hence this long post.I,m sure she has heavy metal issues and will try and get our Dr to request for the Hair analysis at Dr's Data, although he has not been helpful before. How can I get a Cysteine and Sulphate test done and also what is the test to find out her Copper and Zinc Ratio. Can, anyone can offer me any help in what I can give her to help her or what further investigative routes I should take . I have started giving her small doses of Milk Thistle,Vit C and Selenium Methione,Please post if you think this is wrong thing to do ,as I'm not thinking very clearly at present . Thankyou for any advice. Sharon.
Guest guest
Sharon, This does not sound like anything parents have told me that they see when starting our supplements. Please write me off line and let's see if we can figure anything out. Terri from Brainchild terri @ mykland.com At 04:24 PM 10/24/2004, you wrote: > Katy has gone dramatically downhill.... Guest guest
> Katy has gone dramatically downhill. On Friday she she seemed to be > having spasms, lots of involuntary movements of her mouth Is she on any medications? This sounds like possibly a side effect of Risperdal and other similar medications. ,jerking her > arms out and at times having to run stamping her toes and balls of > her feet down, she was conscious throughout and tried to stop when I > asked her to ,she also was biting herself at times This can be vitamin B toxicity symptoms [peripheral neuropathy]. Stop the B vitamins and if you want to try them again, start at very low doses. >>She also had a > hugely distended tummy ,and had diarrhoea later in the evening, and > also I think had eye pain, because she was rubbing her eyes a lot,was > light senstive ,and cried when she started reading .She has also been > asking to be squeezed frequently. This sounds like she did not tolerate whatever vitamins you gave her. >>Could it be the Zinc in the minerals that are causing her a > problem as I've read it can be an excitotoxin to some children? Good. Some of those symptoms were yeast for my son. > I have started giving her small doses of Milk Thistle,Vit C and > Selenium Methione,Please post if you think this is wrong thing to > do ,as I'm not thinking very clearly at present . Those are good to start. Did you notice any changes when you started them? Dana

She's been riding her bike, done well in ABA and her appetite is improved. She has not been taking any medication, and her OAT showed her to be low in B vits. I don't know if she is high in Copper, and need to find out where I can get this tested. I thought I'd leave all supplements for 2 weeks or so . I don't know what to do then, should I treat the Yeast first ,or should I start with vit/mineral supplementation very slowly. Thanks in advance for any thoughts. Sharon. Guest guest
> She has not been taking any medication, and her OAT showed her to be > low in B vits. Most autistic kids are. You might want to try going to a local health food store and purchasing individual Bs. Give very low doses of each one individually, see how that goes. Find a brand that contains very few additives and fillers. This is what I did. > I don't know if she is high in Copper, and need to find out where I > can get this tested. Her symptoms are lots of visual problems, pointing out to the side and putting her fingers up between her eyes, she is also now starting to nod her head whilst going spacey. She is still stamping her feet and having to run quite frequently. Her stools were normal for a few days when her supplements were stopped but now for the past few days has watery diarrhoea. She is also sound sensitive and cannot tolerate to wear her coat over her shoulders.Over her chest in the light it looks like she has a rash under her skin. We had worked up slowly on the enzymes and until her severe symptoms and were on a full ZP,2/3/No Fenol and 1/2 AFP . I don't know if she's had Die off of gut bugs or is this something else. Please could you offer me any advise on what I can do to help her.
