Guest guest
Hi. I am ordering enzymes for my son today who is 4.5 years old and diagnosed with mild autism or PDD, depending who you ask. Anyway, he is a Pfeiffer patient and they recommended enzymes for him because of his malabsorption. We are also fighting yeast since his test came back at a 1+ and also bacteria. I was wondering if any of your children take the enzymes just mixed in water. Since we are trying to cut back on sugar as much as possible I'm only allowing my son about half a cup of rice milk with breakfast and then just water the rest of the day. He's actually not a big water fan so I'm wondering if he'll actually even finish the water to get all the enzymes. I don't want to offer him juice because of the sugar. We already mix his morning and evening supplements in frozen orange juice concentrate just so he'll take them and I know that has a lot of sugar in it. Is my best bet to order the new chewable AFP that Houston Nutraceuticals is offering now? We are ordering all our enzymes from them by the way. Have any of you used the new chewable enzymes with your children and how do they like them? I read some of the mixing suggestions on the Enzyme Stuff website but as I said we are really making a conscious effort to reduce sugar. Finally, 2 last questions... 1) Does it matter if I give the enzymes at the beginning of the meal and immediately following the meal give my son his supplements which include a probiotic (ProBio Gold)? 2) Aren't the enzymes from a fungal source and is that bad for yeast? Whew...that was a mouthful. Sorry this was so long. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Theresa

For a long time, my son would not drink water unless it had ice in it. So you can try that if you want. > 1) Does it matter if I give the enzymes at the beginning of the meal > and immediately following the meal give my son his supplements which > include a probiotic (ProBio Gold)? Depends on which enzymes. > 2) Aren't the enzymes from a fungal source and is that bad for yeast? Not generally, altho there are a few kids who do not tolerate enzymes.
