Guest guest
My son has some behavior issues and uses enzymes, and I was diagnosed with chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia. I can only tolerate AFP without stomach problems, but it has helped me eat dairy again, and helps my food allergies, which helps the pain. I use 2000 mg magnesium (1000mg at morning and at night) when the pain gets really bad. I also use progesterone cream, which made a world of difference, actually allowed me to sleep. Here's an interesting twist; my asthma has been horrible since May; I'm on Advair twice a day and still take albuterol three times a day. The Advair caused thrush. The doctor prescribed two weeks of Diflucan, and upped the strength of my Advair...but since I started on the Diflucan, I haven't had to use either inhalor, not once! Apparently, my asthma is caused or complicated by yeast. Anyone know if I can stay on Diflucan indefinitely? I know it's not great for the liver. Anyway, I know my fatigue and pain are definitely worse when the yeast is bad. The BIGGEST thing that has helped our family so far (my sister and mom have it too) was a site by a lady with FM, who also had ADD. She suspects a link -- I'm sure people on this board can explain it better than I can -- because when she took Ritalin, her pain went away. She is now a certified nutritionist and uses supplements for pain control, many of which are the same -- surprise! -- that people recommend on this board. I was recently diagnosed ADD by a neurologist, started taking Adderall...and my FM pain is GONE. Not helped, but gone. I notice a slight return at night, but since I use the progesterone cream anyway, it doesn't bother me. My sister doesn't get this dramatic of a result, but she definitely has less pain when she takes Ritalin. That's my story. I'm horrible about remembering to take supplements, but it's still a goal of mine to get going. I do have amalgams and have finally found a dentist that will remove him; going to make sure he follows safety procedures first. Let me know if you need more info and want that site, I'll look it up. Guest guest
I have not been diagnosed with anything but I'm extremely suspicious that I have chronic fatigue at the very least. Very interesting about the asthma. I was diagnosed with asthma at age 18 after years of bouts with winter " bronchitis " . It really kicked in after I had my daughter (and my last MMR vaccine). I was on Serevent and Flovent first, then switched to Advair when that came out. I've been on Advair for a few years now and I like how it keeps my asthma symptoms at bay, but my pain has increased over the past few years as well. Never thought there could be a correlation, but now I wonder if I have a yeast issue myself. I'm going to remove dairy and reduce sugar intake, though I eat pretty healthily right now. My son is GFCF so I might as well do it right along with him and see what happens. Enzymes and GSE [and certain food avoidance] have eliminated my nasty asthma, for the most part. I don't need my daily Albuterol, and I only have an occasional attach [less than 1x per week]. It is very nice. Dana
