>>>the BIOSET brand. Has anyone else used them? How different are

they from the Houston's?

I looked these up and they look like reasonably good plant-based

enzymes. They have a good variety of the usual enzymes for most

foods. The main thing is that they don't have quite the potency of

the Houston or Thropps brand per capsule. I checked the label and it

did give 1 dose as 1 capsule. So you might need to take 2 capsules

per meal to equal 1 capsule of the Houston Zyme Prime or Thropps

Ultra-zyme. Other than that you would need to just try a bottle of

each brand and see which you like best.

Now the Peptizyde and No-Fenol from Houstons are quite different.

Peptizyde works on proteins but has a special blend that targets

casein and gluten proteins. Most other brands do not. If casein and

gluten are a particular need, then I don't think you could substitute

for the Peptizyde....especially if you want to use enzymes instead of

a GFCF diet. If you just want some enzymes to use with a strict GFCF

diet, then it wouldn't really matter.

No-Fenol is really unique. It targets yeast and fibrous foods. This

seems to be most helpful for those with colon problems (such as

irritable bowel and similar colon disorders, or bacteria overgrowth).

My husband and younger son have IBS and love No-Fenol. My older son

and I do not have IBS or notable colon problems. We didn't see any

effect from No-Fenol at all. So if you have a need for this special

blend, you might really benefit. If not, you most likely won't miss

it.
