Guest guest
cobalt comes from b-12, b-12 is really the only source of cobalt, andy cutler say cobalt levele in hair are an artifact, that is not meaningful but imo its representative of a b-12 malabsorbtion and transport and utilisation problems. yeast and malabsorbtion would explain a lot of that hair test i think. was is the dryer in the iodised salt? way to much vitamin c, should be given in does of about 15-20 mg several times a day if you are giving zinc you need to look at copper as well, my webpage 'minerals i take' in the index of http://tinyurl.com/2csa3 has info on the subject basically the hair test seems to be ordered which means he has good potential for improvement. > I have just posted my son's hair analysis up for comments. > > Element ratios are within limits, so I don't need to worry TOO much, > right? > > I am particularly concerned about the lows in Se, Co, I... Guest guest
You might want to give up on iodised salt. In my little handout it says: " Fluoride and Chloride have a similar structure to iodine and block thyroid receptors " Sodium Chloride is table salt. To continue with what I've derived from andrew's writing, his low manganese suggests he isn't using his magnesium very well (in spite of a good ca/mg balance). His low sodium/potassium " indicates hyper-adreno-corticism " and they recommend magnesium. But since Mg is fine, I would suspect usage as a problem and Manganese could be the culprit. On the flip, B6 regulates the use of potassium/sodium and is apart of magnesium use. Perhaps some B6 is called for as well or instead. Selenium and iodine work against each, needing one to balance the other for healthy thyroid function. You're back to thyroid again. Guest guest
i would honestly take a straight froward point of view, he was low manganese if the hair test was low and there was some sort of order and there was malabsorbtion. manganese and magensium and appear to substitute. so high manganese and low magnesium is bad i know and likely the other way around. manganese is not necessarily that prevalent in the diet. iodine is that important that better to get it in iodised salt rather than not at all but some of the driers used to keep the salt free flowing are have problems. to think straight you have tie ALL the ends together and not leave them floating around like airbourne shoelaces. -- In , Fred Davies <mrrva@y...> wrote: > You might want to give up on iodised salt. Guest guest
Thanks for your insight! I have been looking at hyper-adreno-corticism, and I only come up with dogs and cats diseases... What a puzzle... Low Vit C, and low cobalt; Low selenium and low iodine; All the regular tests (thyroid, glucose, triglycerides...) came back " normal " , although he had a little high bad cholesterol and low creatine High arabinose, but no fecal yeast or bacteria (after 3 weeks in SCD!) I definitely agree that he had a malabsorcion problem - his intestine was to the point to be distended... which has not cleared yet completely, but he is improving. Should I supplement manganese and selenium, and forget about iodide? Do a B complex, instead of just B5 (he came out low in that)? His behavior is still like a roller coaster. One day he is perfectly quiet and calm, another he is crancky and irritable, and yet another (like today) he gets stuck in high gear and exhuberant excitation... I have info on certain elements, whether low/high results mean too much or too little in the body. Which elements are you interested in learning more about? > 1 cap/day AFP-Peptyzide > 1 cap/day Zyme Prime > 1/2 to 1 cap/day No-Fenol Consider giving low dose with each meal and snack, see if you notice any difference. > 250 mg Buffered Vit C, every other day (can't seem to get higher or > he gets loose stools) Then keep it at this dose. Or consider breaking the dose down [give it 3-4 times per day]. You might be able to give him more [if you want to try giving him more] if you do that.
