Guest guest
I have just received enzymes in the mail for my son, and would like to start the Zyme Prime as soon as possible. However, I just got magnesium for him also, and am not sure whether I should start the magnesium before the enzymes. Also, when I start the enzymes, should I start with 1/4 capsule for every meal? Thanks for any guidance. Tali
Guest guest
Without knowing more about your son and why you've chosen the enzymes and the magnesium, I would vote for the starting the enzymes. Best to get gut-healing under way as soon as possible. Sure, 1/4 cap for every meal for a few days, then 1/2 cap for a few days, working up to a full cap per " average " size meal and maybe 1/2 cap for every snack. Good luck. > I have just received enzymes in the mail for my son, and would like > to start the Zyme Prime as soon as possible. Guest guest
Do research on the various types/formulations. From what I've been able to gather the plant based enzymes won't do any harm, unless of course your child is truly allergic to one of the ingredients. The only way to determine the benefits is to trial them, once you've found a product that you feel is safe and potentially beneficial for what you are trying to accomplish. I'd recommend reading Enzymes for Autism by DeFelice. There are many books, and much info out there, just a matter of wading through it all. Houston enzymes have made such a dramatic change in our lives that it is almost surreal. Look at past posts labeled " good news " " breakthrough " " happy child effect " etc. These are the posts that affirm the good effects if reaffirmation is what you're looking for. starting enzymes > My 3.8 year old son with ASD has been GF/CF for over a year. Guest guest
Deni - hi and welcome! >>>>> How strong a smell and taste does the regular Peptizyde have? The regular Peptizyde does have a noticeable taste and smell out of the capsule. The AFP does not. It is more the papain that gives the smell. I agree with you that enzymes are sooooo much easier for a school to manage than GFCF. You are correct about the oils. Just mix the enzymes as you are and send them to school. They should be fine for the day. You don't need to keep the wafers 'on ice' like you need to keep a water-based liquid cool. Try sending several enzyme wafers to school and tell the teachers to give one EACH time your son eats. That should work. If not, you can also try putting the enzyme powder and a drink mix powder in an empty sippy cut. Tell the teachers to add water and shake when they are ready for a snack. That way the enzymes are quite fresh, it is easy for the teachers, and no mess with full drink container to cart around. An egg and nut allergy is hard enough to deal with! I vote for making everything else as easy as possible. .
