Guest guest
Hi everyone, I just received a bottle of Peptizyde capsules. I just noticed another post talking about " too much too soon " . I suppose I should start small and work up to 1 capsule? Also, I would like to mix the capsule contents with melted GFCF chocolate chips. What is the best way to do this? Are the enzymes heat-sensitive? How should they be stored once mixed with the chocolate? Thank you!
Guest guest
Definitely start low and slow - 1/4 capsule with one meal the fisrt day and observe. Stay at 1/4 cap until you are giving it with each meal, and things are going fine, then gradually increase the amount until you get to a full capsule. This could take a week or two. Some people stay on very low doses, others ramp right up to full capsules. We do 1 cap of AFP, 1 cap of ZP and 1/2 cap of NF with each meal. I usually give a little more AFP with a planned infraction. I put my son's enzmes into melted chocolate chips - there are some on this board who do not like this method. I think it works fine for us. I melt gfcf choc chips (about a tsp of chips per " dose " ), stir them until smooth, let cool a minute or two until they are just warm to the touch, then mix the enzymes in, drop by tsp on waxed paper and put in freezer for a few minutes. They will keep two weeks. If you are avoiding sugar, the chocolate chips might not be what you want to do, also if your child doesn't tolerate chocolate well. For us, it's a surefire way to get the enzymes in. Good luck. > I just received a bottle of Peptizyde capsules. I just noticed > another post talking about " too much too soon " . Guest guest
I try to keep sugar to a minimum, but I know Luke wouldn't take the enzymes any other way than disguised with chocolate! Ok, just so I have it straight, please tell me if I would be doing this right... I want to make 10 chocolates-with-enzymes. I empty 10 doses (whatever I decide for a dose) from the caps. I melt 10 tsp. of chocolate chips. When cooled somewhat I mix them all together and drop into 10 chocolate-enzyme candies. In theory I would have equal doses in each one? I don't want to mess this up so I plan to begin with 1/4 capsule and maybe increase every 6-8 days. Once they are set, how do you store them? Is room temp ok or should they be in the fridge? Thanks very much for the advice! > Definitely start low and slow - 1/4 capsule with one meal the fisrt > day and observe. Guest guest
Another question... I'm just starting with the one enzyme, but I would like to add the others in the future. Do you make separate " candies " for each enzyme or mix them all together? Thanks, > Definitely start low and slow - 1/4 capsule with one meal the fisrt > day and observe.
