Guest guest
it really pays to eliminate colourings and most preservatives. you are a far cry from scd i am afraid. now this is a slightly difficult concept to get but successful supplementation and dietary modification is sorta 'supra' normal, that is its similar to normal but not the same. the whole way the biochemistry works is amplifyed and modifyed so that it is its own reference. with scd emphasis, enzymes, no fenol, whey, efas, vit e bm's are ok at two days. thats sorta supra compared to the supposed normal of once a day, the magnesium if it is being absorbed also makes more of the bodies own enzymes, hence futher reduces stool mass. > With another school break, I decided to once again try the no- phenol. The last, and only time I tried it a few weeks ago a half of a pill sent her into a major melt down-and that wasn't even with any phenol foods. As many responded I was sure that was the yeast talking. Today went much better. When 1/2 went OK, I even bumped it up to a whole pill for a snack. No meltdowns, just slight die off with a nasty disposition. (Thank goodness for melatonine I wanted to know though with no-phenol is it designed to be taken only with fruit and/or phenol foods like olives or almonds? It's not designed to work on non food phenol items such as artificial flavorings/dies and such is it? Also would like to here more on the concept that it reduces stool. Today like the other day I tried it, she did not have a BM. Reduction I guess I could live with if this is normal, but since she has such a major constipation issue now under control with magnesium I don't want to get her backed up. > Thanks! > Kari > >

Here's what I put in n's smoothie every morning: ice chips, a banana, a spoonful of plain yogurt, a raw egg, a little honey, vanilla, cinnamon, sometimes either a spoonful of pureed spinach or some frozen peach. Lately I've been putting whey powder in it. And it really is good -- the banana covers everything. Nell

It's not designed to work on non food phenol items such as artificial flavorings/dies and such is it? For some kids it works for artificials also, for other kids it does not. You would have to experiment with your own child. >>Also would like to here more on the concept that it reduces stool. If foods are better digested, that means they are better absorbed, and there is less to be eliminated. But if you notice any constipation, reduce the NF back down to 1/2 or even 1/4 capsule, and maybe increase the magnesium. Dana
Guest guest
Actually I'm really not so far from scd. There are two reasons why I ask about non-food phenols. First trying to understand if the concept of their design is really for phenols in foods only such as salicylates and amines or the entire spectrum of phenols. As for why I would even want to do this, the reason is I am trying real hard to get whey/protein in her for her gut and found a fantastic tasting whey product called Dyna Whey. But only comes with artificial flavoring and splenda, at http://members.shaw.ca/duncancrow/#whey. I have eliminated most all preservative products. Protein wise I am really stuck because she seriously doesn't like meat. Yesterday I even had to resort to showing her that if she plugged her nose and ate the turkey it wouldn't taste. Worked, but what a horrible way to have to eat. She seems to be OK enough to eat a few organic eggs if I don't do it every day plus she only likes the whites, but the GP test she scored very allergic to because I was giving her 3-4 every day on top of her leaky gut. Had to pull peanut butter for the mold/yeast relationship which was causing a problem. , I know you are big on whey. What kind do you use? Maybe if I could find plain whey, with no-phenol I could try to put it in a smoothie. The one mentioned above was great because it didn't need to be mixed in anything but water. It's all about comprise though, because I need to watch the sugar angle for her bad yeast/bacteria issue if I try a smoothie again. Plus the fruits low on sugar such as raspberries for some reason are the ones high on phenol, and visa versa-go figure. 6 weeks after NO sugar; eating all organics; very low carbs & preservatives gave her a 1/2 an apple and she had a bad yeast related emotional melt down. Made me realize there is still a mess in there and that is why this week I'm trying to get no-phenol into the equation. Thanks, Kari Re: No-Phenol Advise Needed it really pays to eliminate colourings and most preservatives. you are a far cry from scd i am afraid.
