If I remember right, Devin Houston said this can simply be more

protein being processed with the start of enzymes (if you just

started). The ammonia is a nitrogen containing derivative. But if you

haven't just started enzymes, it might be something else. Are there

any other symptoms along with this?

It might come from bacteria and if you treat it it might make your

child better. I would consult a DAN doctor.

Hope

A couple of sports sites also listed ammonia smell in the urine or

sweat as processing lots of protein (breaking down proteins quickly

which leads to the ammonia smell). They suggested noticing if you are

drinking enough water or not eating enough carbohydrates. Not

balancing your diet with enough carbs leaves protein as the fuel

source, the quick or excessive breakdown of which leads to the

ammonia smell.

Just a few other options to consider. You will need to note:

- how long has this been happening

- have you just started enzymes or not

- what type of diet is the person consuming (carbs versus proteins)

- what other symptoms or problems (bacteria, behavior,

medicines/supplements, physical issues like sleeping regular or not,

etc.
