Guest guest
Thanks for the reply. I want to order several months supply of enzymes, so I need to clarify your opinion on the NF. Why do you think we should use NF? What reaction/change am I looking for? My understanding is that it helps with yeast and phenolic foods. Does it do anything else? I do sprinkle enzymes on food sometimes and I can see why it would be more effective. My son is doing fairly well at the moment. After the last three years of temper tantrums, the last 6 months (since we started vitamin have been great by comparison. His mood is fine as long as he gets enough B plus some other herbs/supps that I give him (including 1/2 zinc tablet). From doing SCD I now know he has digestive issues and the enzymes so far seem to be addressing most of it. I've been giving herbal formula for constipation/sluggish bowels and it has helped. I plan to use herbs to boost liver function and then the pancreas. What I'm looking for now is a way to address his low muscle tone. I'm not real keen on supps of amino acids as they seem to cause as many problems as they solve. I prefer a food based approach. I have tried whey on him but he WILL NOT eat it. He isn't a picky eater and likes milk. Do you think I could bake it into something like muffins or crackers or would cooking it kill something in it? Will it help with the muscle tone at all? He isn't underweight or short at the moment but I don't think he is growing as fast as he should. Up until 3 and the MMR, he was always tall for his age. Now he is barely average. Thanks Abby

Guest guest
Will order some NF. Is 1 per day enough? He was breast fed for 9 months, then bottle til about 2 1/2. My mistake was in giving him baby cereal from about 3 months. Now know that little babies can't digest starch, but tradition in the country is to feed cereal as early as 6 weeks. Hair test is coming. Have to get the hair to the US first! Sending with someone in a week. But cooking the whey - does it kill it, ruin the nutrition value? Zinc is chelated zinc. I may try Optizinc when I have time to find it and can afford to order to pay shipping. But it does worry me about the copper as our water has copper in it already. I bet he has too much already. Guest guest
chelated zinc is likely just zinc reacted with hydrolysed vegetable protein which gives a spectrum of chelates corresponding to the amino acids in the vegtable protein and possibly a reasonable amount of unreacted zinc. it is most likely to be not much use. i don't know wether whey retains the value of its growth factors with cooking, most likely it loses some of the value with cooking like milk. since he was bottle fed for such a long period it is likely he has developmentally adpated to need the high bovine growth factors of whey. if you run the tap a bit first to flush the lines or as long as the water has not been standing to long in the pipes the copper should be ok. don't ever use hot water for drinking as hot water leaches copper and lead (solder joins) much much more quickly. optizinc and molybdenum are over effective in removing copper, so that you start to run short of copper before you get adequate zinc. most likely you will be subdividng the capsule of no fenol but @120 lbs one a day is what i take. > Will order some NF. Thanks for the help. Unfortunately the copper appears to be in the water itself as we don't have copper pipes. Abby >
