Guest guest
New at this and want to understand yeast treatment and its relationship to bacteria issues. Testing showed that my 2.8 son had a mild yeast overgrowth but no bacterial or parasite problems. I am treating the yeast with a round of Nystatin with a small amount of No- Phenol with it and I have began giving him a probiotic as well. Does treating yeast ever cause a bacteria problem that wouldn't have been there without the yeast treatment? For some reason I thought I had read this as an experience from someone on this group. Should the probiotic prevent a bacteria problem? Does extended use of yeast killers cause bacteria problems? And finally, I have heard of children being on active yeast killers for lengthy periods of time, and then others just using enzymes for maintenance. How do you know when to stop an active yeast killer in a young child where behavior is just not a useful guide? Any insights appreciated.
