I don't measure vegetables other than the starchy ones that qualify as

carbs. Nobody has ever had a weight problem caused by too many bell

peppers, mushrooms, and leafy green vegetables. :-)

I agree with you and the others who responded. I just wanted to

double-check that I wasn't alone. I know that vegies are carbs, and was

wondering if they were increasing my carb count too high for the day. But,

as I have no intention of weighing my lettuce, I'll continue as I am -

Thanks

I switched from iceberg to romaine or spinach lettuce about six

months ago. It's so much better. What do all of you use to season

your salads? The bottled dressings have too much sugar content for

me, even the low calorie versions.

I usually put my protein on my salad, and therefore, the seasoning from the

protein seasons my salad.

Alternatively, I use Flax Oil, or lemon.

I think I used some salsa once.

Truthfully, my salads are so interesting (to me) they don't need much

else. I add some halved grapes, or 1 Tbsp sunflower seeds, or < 1 Tbps of

raisins.... or cut up orange or strawberries. And grated carrots.

Sometimes I'll used a bottled dressing, if it has 70 calories for 2

Tbsp. Rarely.

PS - I also add my brown rice, or other grain, to my salad. I really like

the combination and texture. I do that for my 16 yo daughter too. Or

chunks of leftover sweetpotato.

I love my salads too... I especially love putting my cottage cheese right on

top.. it gives me that extra moisture that I need to feel like I have a gererous

amount of ranch on it.. I also pre bake weekly a batch of potatoes and dice them

and add right on top.. basically my whole meal is in that salad.. carb/ protein

/veggies...

take care,

Amy
