i think it detracts from the work gayle has done to mention the

doctor.

why when something exceptional is done people feel obliged to promote

the idea of doctors as caring , half way responsible or not

terminally adverse to thinking in new lines i do not know

more real thinking and less glitzy greetings.

Dear ,

I think we may have had this discussion a while back.

I in no way want to take away from what Gayle is doing. But not everyone is

as courageous, perservering, intelligent, etc. etc. etc. as Gayle. Most

people just struggle to get by. Some don't even get by! So I do continue

to hope that more than a few doctors will learn from their patients and help

those who come in expecting them to be a doctor and help them.

Some doctors HAVE learned from moms/laypeople. Phenylanine (sp?) sensitivty

(phenylkenuria?) was discovered by a mom who got the docs to listen...

Wakefield listened to parents....The list goes on. You get my point.

I know YOUR point was that I jumped to the doctor instead of focusing on

Gayle's triumph. I didn't mean to do that. She brought the doctor into her

story and the doctor seemed important to her...

Sorry, Gayle, if I offended....I really just meant to celebrate with you!

, I am always thinking multiphasically (sometimes so much my head

feels like it will explode), if not brilliantly...I would certainly never

call it " glitzy... "
