Guest guest
Since starting Peptizyde, I have had problems with reflux. Any thoughts on what is causing the reflux (is it the enzymes) or what to do?

Any thoughts on > what is causing the reflux (is it the enzymes) or what to do? I get reflux [and other issues] when I eat foods and/or supplements I don't tolerate, even with enzymes. Using Pepcid AC along with enzymes helps. First, try using Zyme Prime and No-Fenol, to take care of other foods that might be causing it. Then it can be easier to figure out which foods are still problems. Dana
Guest guest
My son and I both had this problem at one point. Looking back through my journal, it stopped at about the same time we stopped drinking carbonated beverages. We had to eliminate them during our yeast treatment, and as the reflux stopped, and everything else remained the same, I'm going to " suppose " it was either a yeast issue, or a soda one. Guest guest
, Too little betaine in the tummy can cause the same symptoms as too much.Try betaine or tums and see which makes you feel better and then you will know. R
Guest guest
>>> Since starting Peptizyde, I have had problems with reflux. Any thoughts on what is causing the reflux (is it the enzymes) or what to do? I was talking to a fellow with a long history in the supplement business a month ago (enzymes, probiotics, other stuff with a gut emphasis) and we were talking about yeast. He commented that if the yeast is in the esophagus, stomach or upper small intestine that taking enzymes or probiotics right off can cause one to throw up. The protease or probiotic yeast 'killing' effect causes die-off and the by-products are some something the body just can't stomach <ahem, the pun was too good to pass up >. Since Peptizyde is all proteases, this might be a reason although it isn't an intolerance to the enzyme directly. I have long wondered if having the yeast more localized in various parts of the body would manifest in different symptoms. Try going slower with the proteases and increasing enzymes low in proteases or no proteases for a week or so. Then add in the Peptizyde slowly. This approach makes the die-off more gradual without having to give up all the benefits of enzymes for food digestion. .
