Guest guest
I have a question about Vit. D... My son is taking CLO by Kirkman (2 gel caps)... If I increase to 4 (recommended vit. A by Dr. Megson), then he will be getting 540 iu. I wanted to start supplementing Ca, because he has been casein free for about 1 year now... and the supplement I got, also has Vit. D (175 iu per dose)... So that means he would be getting 715 iu. He is 80 lb., fair skinned, but he tans easily. We are going to Spain in 2 weeks, and I am worrying about " too much sun " ... Guest guest
have you read my page on skin vitmain d? the solar elevation in madrid at the summer solstice is only 73 degrees which gives the right sun for vitamin d by a smalish margin of 5 degrees its just beats me all these mother denying thier kids the most essential thing they need to help the kids immune system genes reset skin vitmain d can't even be bothered to put in several hours on the web page i have written up in the index of http://mueller_ranges.tripod.com/links/compendium/compendium.html how long are you going to be in spain? i would put priority on the skin d over oral d.............. > I have a question about Vit. Guest guest
, I have read your page, I just can't make sense of the latitudes and the degrees and the times of the day when the degrees are right or wrong... I am going to be there for a month, and we will be travelling to the south of Spain. I have stopped using sunscreen on my son's body. But I really do not want to overdo it. But from what you posted I gather it is just not so bad... Coral - who used to be a sun worshiper in her teens and twenties, and now gets dark blotches on her face even with SPF 45... I think it is called miasma... or a retroactive Vit. D overdose lol
Guest guest
even with the miasma you need a couple of minutes of solar noon sun its probably a hormonal thing skin vitmain d may help as might wheys. get some limited whole body sun exposure in clear air and skys at solar noon, the rest of the time cover up and no sunscreens this is what latitude and longitude is http://worldatlas.com/aatlas/imageg.htm you don't have to understand it much, just use the links on the web page to get the time of solar noon in a nearby city and the alitude which is how high the sun is at solar noon. and keep an eye on the stratospheric ozone, to high and it cuts off the vitmain d making sun to much. you cannot overdose on skin vitmain d , the body has mechaisms to regulate it. oral vitamin d you can over dose on though i find at 120 lbs that 1000iu a day seems ok. but skin vitmain d is better. you need to know how to do this via the web links cause it changes as summer goes on > , I have read your page, I just can't make sense of the > latitudes and the degrees and the times of the day when the degrees > are right or wrong...
