Hyperactivity and HNI enzymes

Hello everyone,

I have had my son on a GFCF diet for just over 3 months. We began

supplementing with enzymes (only used when we go out to dinner,

birthday parties, etc).

I have noticed extreme hyperactivity from my son after taking the

HNI enzymes from Houston. I know this is listed as a possible side

effect, does anyone know what causes it?

My son is not supplementing with anything else (no B-12, B-6, etc).

If anyone has any information it is greatly appreciated!

Thanks

It could be any of half a dozen reasons. First, would you

characterize this as negative, destructive, out-of-control

hyperness...or would you call it excessive 'up' energy hyperness.

It can be increased sensory perception (basically good)

- or die-off (basically good but negative at the time),

- or not tolerating the supplement (a negative)

- or metabolizing more food and nutrients (basically good)

- or more energy from food (good)

- or other possibilities...

If you are only giving enzymes here and there, and it is die-off or

withdrawal or gut-cleaning, he may be getting enzymes too irregularly

for him to thoroughly adjust. You might want to try giving enzymes

regularly for a week or so and see if it resolves. Just so you will

know if giving enzymes more often is helpful for uses other than

immedicate breakdown of casein and gluten foods.

A few ideas:

Intolerance to the enzyme. Which one/s are you using?

If this is within the first 3 weeks of enzyme use, it might be

adjustment period.

If you are not giving them with all food/drink, he might be having a

problem during those meals where you are NOT giving enzymes.

He might not tolerate certain foods, even WITH those enzymes.
