metal free for mercury chelation?

I have read both positive and negative stories about Metal-Free.

It is ALA-based, so you can just purchase ALA from a local health food

store, if you want. It is also much less expensive that way. I

chelated my kids with ALA.

If you want to use one of this type of commercial products, I have

read more positive stories, and fewer negative stories, with use of

PCA-RX.

Thank you Dana. What kind of positive/negative stories have you heard? I just

can't seem to find much information on it at all. We were advised to try this

by Dorfman, a nutritionist. She seems to have a lot of confidence in it,

but yes, it is very expensive. I will ask about PCA-RX at our next visit.

Do you know the cost of Metal Free? I couldn't find it anywhere on

the website. Unfortunately I don't have much information on this

either and I've been looking too. It was recommended for my son by

his doctor.

We have been using this woth Dr. Hicks for about 8 months or so and

we are having (to me) ok results (you know everyone wants to see the

numbers off the charts) but Dr. Hicks feels that our sons numbers

are good. We have also had some detox issues as well so he added iv

glut to the mix. The are several other families in my area that are

going very well on it. I have to get it from Hicks and it is $140 a

bottle. It is safe.

I understand that PCA-Rx is much stronger than metal free, so I'd be cautious.

I know a

mom who completely healed her son with metal-free, but his metal problem was

antimony, and he had been unvacccinated. I'm on another list, and there's a

woman who

RAVES about NDF plus (there is also NDF, which is much stronger, so you'd start

with the

plus. I have no experience with these, but am interested).

Metal-free costs about $150.00... a lot!!! It does last a long time. I've been

using it

cautiously with my 2 1/2 year old. I am concerned about the ALA because of

redistribution possibilities. I do think it is a much different product than

straight ALA; and

it probably isn't as strong. My son is high functioning. His stims seemed to

immediately

slow down when we started this product...but we were also increasing his

magnesium and

zinc. His language and eye contact have also improved, but again, I'm not sure

what to

attribute it to.

Good luck,

Jill

Positive: child improves overall, increased language, more related to

others, fewer stims, that sort of thing.

Negative: major regression, loss of any skills previously acquired,

parent can't seem to figure out how to reverse the regression.

Boy, wholesale must be nice!!

How is she dosing it? Jr. is 50 lbs and he gets three sprays in his

mouth a night before bed, every night.

Marla

> Wow, that's a lot! let us buy it wholesale and it

was " only " $100 with shipping. We have been on it a week now. My

son used to do a TON of verbal stimming which seems to have gone

away. He has started squeaking a bit when he throws things, or as a

sound effect, but it's not nearly as bad as the other, or as

frequent. So, tonight we go from 4 to 8 drops and see what

happens. We won't have any numbers for a few months yet.

There is a file in the Files section (this one is not at the

enzymestuff.com site). When Metal-Free, NDF, and PCA-rx first started

to buzz around I called all three companies after hearing conflicting

reports. Also, I was at a conference and talked to the PCA-rx owner

in detail about his products. But the big impression maker was the

dad and few moms that came by the table and these people were RAVING

about PCA-rx after doing 2 years on the DMSA+ALA program the dan

people were telling parents to do at the time. And the dad had his

labs tests with him and showed them to me (they were the same ones

other people talk about with all the colored bars showing what is

supposedly being excreted).

The PCA-rx is 3 times the Metal-free (metal-free was a retail less

strong version). NDF is completely different. Of all them, my

impression is the PCA gives the most successful improvement and is

the best bet due to consistent positive reports. I haven't heard much

positive or negative with Metal-free, and NDF gets some positives but

also some really notable negative reports.

The PCA-rx person was the only one of the three that freely answered

my questions and gave reasonable explanation for how it should work.

Here is the link to the file which was written a few years ago:

is great to work with. I've always felt she has our best interests at

heart, and isn't trying to get rich off us. Although with how busy she is, she

certainly doesn't need to! We started out with 4 drops and increased to 8 after

a week. Next week we'll up to 12 drops (the equivalent of 3 sprays) and stay

there. is only 30 pounds, but have great hopes for an increase in

appetite!

Thanks for the link! Of course now I'm really confused. We've been seeing

pretty good results so far with the metal free after only a week and two days.

Would we get even better results from PCA-RX? Like I said, I don't want to take

any chances with my little guy, but don't want to give up the positive results

either!
