Guest guest
Recently my 4 yr old ASD son has been mouthing everything, putting toys in his mouth, chewing them. He never used to do this, so I am concerned why he would start now. I know this topic has been discussed before but I didn't pay much attention because he never did this! Can anyone give me some suggestions........is there a supplement that can help with this? TIA,

For my #3, this would have meant he was eating a food or supplement he did not tolerate, or he had a yeast problem. Dana
Guest guest
Hi My son did do this so I took notes:-) mouthing and chewing Metagenics Zinc Drink (JUDY) (The great thing about a zinc deficiency is that it will taste like water if you are zinc deficient, and taste absolutely awful if you are not.) During the past week, my son has chewed up 3 T-shirts and 1PJ top, they're actually full of holes. He has always been quite bad at putting things in his mouth, but this seems a bit extreme. My son did this at school, came home missing buttons as well, kirkmans liquid zinc stopped it for us, DEVERELEMENTARY zinc stopped it for us. - My #3 mouthed objects when he ate foods and/or supplements he did not tolerate, or when he had a yeast problem. Many kids mouth objects because they are too-low zinc. Dana I started him on a liquid zinc and have noted that he doesn’t put things in his mouth very often at all now. mouthing objects Recently my 4 yr old ASD son has been mouthing everything, putting toys in his mouth, chewing them. Guest guest
>>>Recently my 4 yr old ASD son has been mouthing everything, putting > > toys in his mouth, chewing them. My older son stopped this with magnesium. Mag, zinc, and at times calcium (the minerals) can be helpful. He doesn't need this anymore. Possibly because of better absorption of minerals from food with enzymes. .
Guest guest
My daughter is doing a little of this. She is also eating lots of ice. I am giving magnesium. Could she need extra zinc as well? Re: mouthing objects >>>Recently my 4 yr old ASD son has been mouthing everything, putting > > toys in his mouth, chewing them.
