Guest guest
The stool change is a nice improvement... Are there any other improvements at all? We had a long adjustment period, but we also saw progress that encouraged us to continue. I'm curious that you started both ZP and Pep at the same time? If things don't pick up, you could just continue with the ZP, maybe even at a lower dose, see how she does on that, then add in the Pep when you know she tolerates the ZP. > Hi, > > How can I tell whether is not tolerating an enzyme, or whether > she is undergoing the initial adjustment period. > > I started Thropp's 3 weeks ago, and switched to ZymePrime last > Tuesday, as well as beginning Peptizyde. > > She is out-of-control grouchy -- more time being spent in her room > for yelling than out. Guest guest
For other improvements, we see more and more spontaneous language every day (but we also did Tomatis therapy from March to May, and we believe it helped her enormously). What happened with the ZP was I thought it was comparable to the Thropps and since I had just worked up to a whole cap of Thropps (Ultrazyme Plus), I thought I could just sub in the ZP. I guess I'll pull the Peptizyde altogether (was using it to try some infractions) and reduce the dose of ZP. Thanks for your thoughts. That's great! > What happened with the ZP was I thought it was comparable to the > Thropps and since I had just worked up to a whole cap of Thropps > (Ultrazyme Plus), I thought I could just sub in the ZP. Oh, yes yes, I get it. That makes sense. > I guess > I'll pull the Peptizyde altogether (was using it to try some > infractions) and reduce the dose of ZP. Sure, you can try that, I hope it helps. When you add the Pep back in, remember that some kids have a little longer adjustment period to it, though if you're GFCF, it may not be so bad. Other kids are fine right from the get-go. My son did great until we hit 3/4 cap; it took months longer for him to be able to tolerate a full cap. But boy did we see improvements at both those doses!! Good luck.
