Adjusting to ZP

Hi,

I am really new to this myself, but we started Zyme Prime a few weeks

ago. We started at only 1/4 capsule for breakfast, waited three

days, then 1/2 a capsule at breakfast, then (after three days) 1/2

capsule at breakfast and lunch. We had hyperactivity for the first

week or more, as I gradually upped the dosage. A few times I

deliberately missed a meal or backed off if his system seemed too

stressed. I also backed off because I mistakenly thought he could

handle more phenols, and he was reacting (I didn't know to papain,

bromelain or phenols). It was the phenols. I lowered the daily dose

of phenols, and all hyperactivity (which had dimished by day 10) and

dark circles under eyes disappeared. We are now (finally), up to 1

cap per meal with positive results. Hope this helps, as I almost

posted the same question a few days ago.

If it is adjustment, that usually subsides within 3 weeks. You can

wait that long, or try the non-papain/bromelain version now.

Did he show hyperactivity at 1/4 cap? Did you wait until the hyperactivity

subsided before upping the dose? I give him 1/2 cap with every meal and

snack.

We are already on low phenols. My son has a cumulative reaction to

salicylates, so we only have low sal foods. But as I was thinking it

through, I think it is just an adjustment, because even though he is more

hyperactive, he is not whiney, crying for not reason, etc, like his usual

reaction to phenols/salicylates. I might be wrong, but we will see how it

goes. Thanks Judy.

Alice,

I didn't wait until the hyperactivity subsided, because it wasn't

that bad (e.g., he was able to play, and he was able to fall asleep

at night, albeit 30 minutes later than usual). It was more like 1/2

a cap where I noticed hyperactivity (it's really gone now, and we're

at 1 capsule per meal per day, hoping to start peptizyde in a few

days).
