Hey, don't worry about the reply delay - some days I'm just glad I

get motivated enough to change out of my pj sweats (even if it is

only to put another identical pair on, LOL), especially this time of

year!

Thanks to everyone who did reply back to this...it is

perplexing. I have done three (yep, three) different elimination

challanges with Glenn since 3.1.04. I was a little hesitant starting

AFP Pep only a few weeks before our DAN! appt, (Oct 1st for AFP P,

Nov 13th for DAN!), but we were sure G. was getting " tainted " at

school. Our easygoing kid was horrifically noxious -personality,

sleep AND poop-wise (sorry for detail). First day AFP P - happy kid

and ONE FORMED POOP!! I called my whole family in a state of sheer

glee. We've had ups and downs since then, but in general - LOADS of

improvment on all fronts. I also credit his MB12 shots - been a busy

biomedical month for us.

The allergy issue. Well, it's obviously not anaph, but I don't

want to be loading him for a cumulative rxn, either. The rash is

practically invisible (unless he's hot - then that skin is a little

pinker). It is mostly just rough-feeling skin that does not respond

to lotion (I've tried pure tea tree and E - diluted - and his Burt's

Bees diaper cream. No dice) It does not seem to be worse in water,

It does not seem to respond to removal of enzymes (only for two

days). It is worse in the area where his pants sit, but has spread a

bit around his lower back, he's got a patch on his thigh, and on the

backs of his hands and fingers. In short, anywhere there is any

level of sustained pressure, although I haven't the foggiest why

this would matter. (Enlightenment, anyone??). I should also mention

that he is the most tragically white Irish child ever. (not sickly-

looking; but the whole blond hair/blue eyed/sensative skinned kiddo

profile).

I know. Which is why I would LIKE to get an allergy test for

him, but what kind? IgG? IgE? IgA? SAGE? From which lab? My one

thought is that since this did seem to coincide with the beginning

of enzyme use, and progressed, could this mean that he tolerated

certain foods BECAUSE he was not digesting them completely? And now

that he can absorb his foods better, his body is reacting?

Sounds like G.

He is a kid who is fully vaccinated. (Dad works in a busy ER -

knowing what I know now, I might've done differently...) He never

had an overt rxn to vaccines. Never really been sick, either

(seriously, three colds, NO ear issues, one bout of diarrhea= he's

almost four). Yes, I know about the " hyper immunity " slant. Point

is, I am lacking in direction. Do I do another food challenge? His

current profile: GFCFSFCFYF, Feingold, low phenol/salicilyte,

probiotic, SNT, EFA's, espom baths,AFP P, MB12 shots. We are

supposed to start Diflucan, Flagyl and Nystatin soon (really nasty

gut bug level; low yeast and some good bact too, though. I want to

get as much of a handle on this as possible before that.

Sorry, everyone, for the novel, but I'm at a bit of a loss.

(Obviously not for words, eh? ;-)

Happy New Year! Best of luck to everyone in 2005.

My #3 had a rash similar to this. It was a combination of many

things, including food intolerances, yeast, virus issues, and Vitamin

A and B vitamin deficiency.

This is similar to my #3. Try olive leaf extract. I did not notice

it helping until I removed it, then BAM major rash.

Chelation removed the food and yeast causes. After the OLE, vitamin A

and B vitamins removed the rest of it.

Do all of those things help? My #3 had major problems with high doses

of B vitamins, especially B12 without folic acid. I was able to give

him low-medium doses only. He also had problems with all probiotics

and EFAs.

Could be. He has intestinal issues. (is improving via MB12 & AFP

P). He ingests just fine, but if malabsorbtion is an issue (as I

beleive it was), why would the rash be manifesting as his gut is

healing?

OK. We are scheduled to start Diflucan, Flagyl and Nystatin

soon. Should take about four weeks to build up/treat. MAJOR

anaerobic bact, yeast not too terrible, some good bact levels, but

we've got to get these pathogens under control.

That may be in our future. Once get get the gut issue quasi-

resolved, we may do a chelation challenge with Glenn.

Yes, to a degree. Some he responded well to immeadiately

(GFCFSFCFYF, MB12, low phenol/salicilytes), some he could only

tolerate in smaller doses (SNT; until recently, only 1 cap per day -

now he does well with two), and I did not notice how the probiotics

had been helping him until I removed them for a few days to see what

happened (unfocused, cranky, looser stools after 36hrs).

We're starting him on a folinic acid trial this week. He gets

folic acid as part of SNT.

So far, G. does well with flaxseed oil, and grapeseed oil, but

not CLO or borage oil. Thanks for the help!

Detox thru the skin instead of thru the gut and/or other places. This

is actually an improvement, because skin detox typically does not

affect other areas like behaviors etc.

You can challenge foods again if you want. Personally, I would use

enzymes and then challenge things one at a time.
