Guest guest
> I've been eagerly reading everything on this group for the past 2 or 3 weeks and awaiting 's book to arrive before I try the enzymes on my 2.5 year old. In her mushy bowel movement today I found undigested spaghetti squash from yesterday's lunch and dinner! I'm not happy about this and am looking for any advice or information from anyone out there. Should I just go ahead and order the enzymes? I should also mention that we're still waiting for our daughter to talk...so something is definitely not well within her. Hey there Ro Se- Look at the info on pecanbread.com. Follow the links to Food Prepartation... scroll down and you'll see find this about spagetti squash.... " Note: For those with strictures (narrowed ileums) certain foods may aggravate the narrowed portions of the ileum. These foods include raw grapes, lots of raisins, spaghetti squash, celery, vegetable and fruit peels, whole nuts (nut flour or nut butter seems to be okay). Please also see Obstructions and Resections from Elaine's website. " Elaine's website is breakingtheviciouscycle.info. My son is currently on stage 3.5 of the SCD. He had yellow, mushy blowouts before he started the SCD. Now, lovely brown lumps. Enzymes should do the same as the SCD. Our plan is to get through the SCD as quickly as possible, then re-introduce complex carbohydrates (GFCF), then gluten and casein. READ the Enzymes book. You also might want to read " Breaking the Vicious Cycle " The die-off was intense on the SCD... 3-4 days of acid reflux 24/7 (almost puked again and again)... then, amazing happy child and on the road to good poops. I'm not suggesting that you go on the SCD... it's a pain... but, for our son, it has been a godsend. Suprisingly, he even started not tolerating his b12 and tmg (after 2.5 months of gut healing)... thank goodness for the enzyme book as I literally turned the page and discovered that this can happen on enzymes when the gut heals. But, the bright side to our experience... as Nigel's gut is already partially healed... we were able to fly through the Houston enzymes and are already up to all three... full capsules at all meals/snacks. He's been on enzymes for two weeks. Our hiccups have been: timing of No-Fenol/Grapefruit Seed Extract. More bumps... do a search on nigelsmom2 and you'll see. So, I suspect we are going to have to try the SCD version of the enzymes... But, oh well for the moment, as the non-scd is what we have. And, everything about Nigels temperment, patience, communication, physicality, happiness is just better and better (minus the hiccups). Good luck and read, read, read. Guest guest
Hi Sally Thank you for all the information, I will definitely read what's posted on pecanbread. What's strange is that she has been on the SCD for about 2 months already. So the fact that this is happening raises concerns! Something is definitely not right but I will continue searching for answers cause I KNOW they're out there!!! :-) Thanks Rose nigelsmom2 <nigelsmom2@...> wrote: > I've been eagerly reading everything on this group for the past 2 or 3 weeks and awaiting 's book to arrive before I try the enzymes on my 2.5 year old. For my kids, this would have meant they did not tolerate whatever was undigested. >>I'm not happy about this and am looking for any advice or information from anyone out there. Should I just go ahead and order the enzymes? I would definitely consider enzymes. Dana
