Guest guest
From the perspective of an adult on the spectrum, if you gave me a magic wand that would take me off the spectrum, I would NOT use it. Looking back at my childhood, I would guess that many people would think it sad that I didn't have friends outside of my family, but it never even occured to me that I should have more friends or that I should feel lonely. I still don't have many friends, but the friendships I have are much deeper than most experience. I have my own business, which allows me to do what I love every day. I feel truly blessed to be who I am. However, if there was a magic wand that would take away my leaky gut instantaneously, I would use it! Actually, we graduated to full dose capsule, once a day. 1/3 3xday for 3 days, 1/2 2x day for 3 days, then full dose of one capsule. After the full dose, we had the worst behavior ever for 3-4 days. This pattern stayed the same when introducing all three capsules to the system. We knew to prepare ourselves for full does breakdown! So for us it was 4th day after hitting full dose. > > For the most part, we have a happy child, with minor infractions...but this is related to diet. Guest guest
I think you have said exactly how I feel. I wouldn't necessarily take away the all autism because it is part of who my daughter is. What I would do is take away the parts that make her so uncomfortable. My husband has OCD and he says the same thing you do. If he had a magic wand I don't think he would take it away because he says there are some good things about it. However, he does take something to make it less intrusive on every day life. Re: Re: how long before the happy child takes effect? > > > Hang in there! We had the same problems. Guest guest
I too would never want to change the personalilty that lies under the Autism that my son suffers from. When he is in a " well " state he has the absolute best sense of humor and a great big belly laugh that would bring a smile to anyone's face. I guess what I am trying to say is as said I want to help recover him from all the pain that makes him unwell so that he can enjoy everyday life. >From: " Blackmon " <blackmon@...> >Reply- >< > >Subject: Re: Re: Don't Cure your Child >Date: Fri, 31 Dec 2004 18:49:32 -0600 > >I think you have said exactly how I feel. Guest guest
Idon't want to change the personalities of my kids either. I love the way they are--my 5yr old summed it up in the quote I put in my signature line. I would like to improve their over all health tho. MISSY SAHM to some special kids!!! I am who I am because that's who I am --, 5, Aspergers All kids are gifted; some just open their packages earlier than others. -- Carr Re: Re: how long before the happy child takes effect? > > > > > > Hang in there!
