dark circles

Yes, he sleeps 11-12 hours of (usually) uninteruppted sleep. He is 3 and

has had these circles, after looking at old pictures, since he was about 1 year

old. They've progressively gotten darker. After a few months on the

enzymes, he's started packing on some much needed weight and I thought that

maybe

that would even help but, no luck there either. I'm guessing low iron. Any

other suggestions????

Thanks, Tracey

Greetings!

For the easy question hehe Is he getting enough sleep? They are

growing like weeds at that age and that in itself is very taxing.

For my son, it was caused by eating foods or supplements he did not

tolerate, even with enzymes, or he had a yeast problem.

Thanks evreyone for your suggestions concerning nick's dark circles. As far

as I know, he doesn't have allergies. He is not on GFCF but, I am currently

treating him for yeast so perhaps that will make a difference as Dana said for

her son. Thanks again!

One thing, does anybody know if not eating meat or veggies (low iron) could

cause the circles??

Thanks very much,

Tracey

Hi Traycey,

please post about your son's dark circles. My ASD twins have some

issue with dark circles but my nonASD 4 year old has had really big

dark circles no matter how much sleep or if she's taking claritin.

And, I've noticed I have those and many of the women on one side of

my family do. I think its quite interesting and would like to know

what has helped your son

thanks,

Anne, mom of 35 month old twin girls with ASD

For my son, dark circles meant phenol intolerance or yeast overgrowth

Does your child have any allergies? For my son when sleep is

adequate and he is eating enough we look to see how his allergy

symptoms are. He is highly controlled by his allergy meds but

usually he will be stuffy in his nose but not so much that you notice

it and he doesn't complain either. I usually add a little

decongestant for a few days and they disappear.

The dark circles could have numerous causes. If he is eating gluten,

you could have him tested for celiac disease with a simple blood

test. Do a search and read about it. It can lead to malabsorbtion

which leads to nutritional deficiencies, most common being iron

deficiency anemia.

If I were to pick one, it would be allergies and intolerances (food,

environmental).
