Guest guest
Bring your child to an Osteopathic Doctor (DO) who does Cranial Sacral Manipulation. See _www.drtortu.com_ (http://www.drtortu.com) to see an example of what credentials you are looking for. It will help immensely and should be covered by your insurance. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ In a message dated 12/30/2004 1:43:25 PM Eastern Standard Time, mngia@... writes: I am wondering if I should start to worry about my almost 2 year old, . , who is now almost 7, and taking enzymes, was a headbanger as a child. The problem, we have ceramic tile and marble floors, and they are not very forgiving..to say the least. , like , is forming a ridge in the top of his skull at the front, from the banging. They bang their forehead, and end up with this ridge on the top, right above the forehead. Any comments? Does this cause neurological damage? In my family it meant yeast in the head, certain phenols, and too much B12 especially without folic acid. > What does DH stand for? GSE and Candidase eliminates yeast in my own head. >> He doesn't > eat much with phenols- All of the above three yeast items are high phenol, be sure to give them with No-Fenol. > you know of a good folic acid that I can get at the health food store, or is > it better to order it from somewhere? I have never had a problem with any folic acid brand, so long as it does not contain excessive additional ingredients. Some kids do better with folinic, not folic, so you can consider that. >>Also, for OCD, what would you > recommend to start on to help that? This was viral for my son. I use OLE and ViraStop. Vitamin C, colostrum, astralagus root, and biotin are also helpful. Dana
Guest guest
Our son TOm is still really banging his head. He places a mat or paperback book between his head and really hard things and often bangs his head on his knee. HIs knee is covered with bruises but he tends to use the front of his forehead so no bad marks there. What causes this? He's been on biomedical for almost 14 months. He is a little low in iron which we're supplementing (i.e. that's new) and he started nasal MB12 two weeks ago. But really he's been headbanging moreorless daily for the last six months and irregularly before that. His stools and " panda eyes " are much improved since adding probiotics and sacc boulardi 3 months ago. He takes a good range of supps, nothing that we haven't tested him to prove he needs. But - he gets into a rage and bangs and butts - it upsets and hurts him and makes us feel utterly useless. Any thoughts? Guest guest
Steph, Headaches? Is he verbal or otherwise communicative, have you asked why he does this? Have you tried CST (Cranial Sacral Therapy)? Have you tested for allergies to food, environmental factors? What's his diet like? Has he had any vaccines or dental work lately? If you skip the iron for a few days does he stop? Look at all the supplements and pay attention to any fillers. Any new chemical exposures (cleaning supplies at home or school, new mattress or bedding?) Will he let you massage his head instead of him banging it? Does he have auditory hypersensitvity? What's going on at the times he bangs? Is it in a particular location? after particular food? When requested to do something he doesn't want to do? What noises, smells, or lights are occurring at the time he does this? Is a sibling, computer, TV, pet, phone, etc. getting specific attention at that time?
