Melatonin and Constipation? HELP!

Does Melatonin cause constipation? My son started melatonin 2 weeks ago for

sleep issues, and it has worked wonders in that department, but it's now been

5-6 days since he has had a BM, he is also breaking out in hives! What could

be causing this? The melatonin?

I researched melatonin pretty thoroughly, but never came across anything that

connected it with constipation. But having said that, anything can cause

anything in anybody, try removing it and see if that helps.
