Guest guest
, Funny, I was going to email you about this to see what you are doing. I have two different thyroid products - one is a glandular (can't remember the brand and I am in Chicago, not at home in Indiana, but from New Zealand stock, purchased at HFS in Bloomington), and the other is from Whole Foods and is a tyrosine/herbal concoction, also at home. I also ordered some adrenal cortex extract under the theory that I should support the adrenals at the same time dealing with the thyroid. I have been debating about how to approach this. For the moment, I am giving my son a small amount of the glandular (1/2 cap) spread out over the day in three doses, and that is it. We noticed immediate improvement in language and gross motor. My thought it that I don't want to tax his adrenals at the expense of his thyroid, so I probably want to add the adrenal cortex extract next (when it arrives), and assuming that works, to add in some of the tyrosine herbal stuff to support there. We are going to go in for blood tests in about a month to gauge where we are and start thinking about whether we need to find someone to prescribe armour thyroid. Please, anyone, feel free to chime in and make suggestions/corrections, etc. I am angry that the docs (a regular ped, an alternative non-DAN and a DAN) didn't pick this up earlier (all the signs were there) and am feeling like I am going it a bit alone on this one. Shows you how much good the docs are! And , as I know this is something you are currently dealing with, I would love to know what you are doing/have done.
