What kind of $$ am I in for with dentist?

Has anyone been to a mercury free dentist and willing to share how much it

costs? I got my brave hat on and called and made an appointment with a

DAMS/IOMTC ? approved dentist near me. Strangely she has an appointment

tomorrow morning for a consult. I guess it was meant to be, I am known for

chickening out! The inital appointment is only $148 and that is for x-rays and

exam. I am not wanting to do x-rays but I have a crown and I think that is the

only way to see if there is Hg under it. We ditched our dental insurance since

no Hg free dentist are on it so it is all out of pocket.

Thanks and please wish me luck, I don't want to chicken out again until I get

all this work done. I have that crown, one big Hg filling and a few cavities

that need attention.
