Guest guest
, My son is 15 and has Aspergers/HFA. " I don't know " is something we hear from him a lot. There are times I believe that he truly doesn't know, and other times, if we talk through the situation, he can come up with some reason but it is very difficult for him. This is improving since the introduction of B-12 injections, LDN, DMG, and TD-DMSA. I think you should tell your son what he has. I used some of the good children's autism books that are out there. Blue Bottle Mystery by Kathy Hoopmann Of Mice and Aliens by Kathy Hoopmann Freaks, Geeks and Asperger Syndrome by Hall Asperger Syndrome, the Universe and Everything by Luke Just to mention a few. When I ask him why, he says " I don't know " . Is this because of his lack of expressive language or just something like a stim or does he really (probably) not know? Any ideas about what to do with it. Also, he is 8 and has heard us talking about autism and had questions about what we are talking about. I'm not sure how to word the explanation that he has it. He already feels different because of his many allergies. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated and thank you, M
