Guest guest
Given what you write, I would take a look at the Geier's interview on Autism Media. THey are doing research into mercury and testosterone, so you're theory and the DPT and the puberty interacting may be accurate. Here's the link. http://www.autismmedia.org/media4.html You may also be interested the Reverend Sykes' interview, as her son is being treated with this protocal. http://www.autismmedia.org/media10.html Good Luck! Guest guest
we tried chelation a few years ago, and when I asked the DAN doctor about the results, he blew past it like they were insignificant, and wanted to go straight to HIS specialty, allergies and such. We tried his horrific diet for 3 months with no changes, and there was basically nothing left for my son to eat!! He was basically starving, so we finally took him off and never went back. does anyone know who can do chelation in the Kansas City area besides our local DAN doctor? > > > > I have a 14 year old son that within the last few months has > become > > agressive and violent on almost a daily basis. > > I believe it started with a DPT shot in August at his dr.s > office. Guest guest
Many on this list do chelation without a doctor. You can order DDI hair elements tests yourself through DLS. You can buy oral ALA at HFS and oral DMSA on-line/by phone. You can get lots of good advice and opinions on this list and from Andy Cutler's books. Most likely the DAN doc you went to didn't use appropriate dose and dosing schedule. You can learn about those and the reasons for them in the FAQs of this list. Guest guest
yes, I just read the geier protocol with great interest. It could be the testosterone.......even in girls. We live in KC also. OUR son regressed to being autistic DURING puberty. Before, I suspected he might be a tad autistic, but during puberty, its like gone into laymans terms....full on obvious autism. sad but true. for violence...he gets no video games if he's violent so that fixed it....He really loves his video games. I recommend highly getting an Xbox 360 and then take it away if he misbehaves...coercive yes, but effective. We have our first appointment with the only Dan in KC....we are from KC too......so can you email me privately and tell me EVERYTHING!!!! Dish....scoop...gossip...rag....tell all.... I have a Dr. Cathcart in California to call. (650) 949-2822. His specialty is chelation and he may know of a doc in our area who specializes in chelation. The type he does is iv's with magnesium and sodium edta. Don't know what this list's take is on those. He is a orthomolecular physician. Then, there is another Mc something place that does iv chelation around here.....google it. Plus....you could do it on your own with the help of this list...which is a route we might go if the Dan doesn't work out.

Guest guest
> he hasn't been sleeping well, or eating as well as he used to. So do you give him any supplements? Chelation? Anything? Something must have triggered this. Even if it's just the age, I would think that there must be some supplements that could help this. Guest guest
I think low serotonin, high testosterone, mercury, viruses from the DPT shot, and puberty could all or some of them be causing the aggression and violence as the previous posters have mentioned. But I wanted to chime in with a solution for now that might help while you are exploring these other options. I like the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) for me and my children. The main website is at http://emofree.com/. They have a free downloadable instruction manual that would get you started and local practitioners, many who are degreed and certified in other areas and therefore billable on your insurance, can be found through their website also. Even if there is no local practitioner, it can be done all by telephone. I have used EFT just from the free manual and the free e-newsletters and love it. I am going to an all day seminar tomorrow on it by a local practitioner and am really looking forward to it. They have 100s of success cases listed at http://www.emofree.com/eft-at- work.htm. We are currently chelating my 13 yo son and he gets angry and yells sometimes too, not the violence really though. After this seminar I'm going to start using EFT more with him. I've noticed that video games get him agitated also so we try to limit those. Guest guest
He does take vitamins, he has had a round of chelation once, but our local DAN doc is a quack IMO, and wanted to breeze past that and go straight to food allergies, putting my son on basically a starvation diet of about 6 foods he was allowed to have, and had to rotate even those. We feel a DPT shot in August, plus the height of puberty is basically what is causing this violence and other problems. > > > he hasn't been sleeping well, or eating as well as he used to. > > So do you give him any supplements? > Chelation? > Anything? > Something must have triggered this. Guest guest
> developementally, and that he HAD to have it for school. This won't help for this time, but next time find your state here and waive any vax http://home.san.rr.com/via/STATES/allstates.htm >>I'm sure that > puberty is a big problem here too, he seems to be trying to sexually > arouse himself all day long. For my son [who is 9], this meant yeast overgrowth http://www.danasview.net/yeast.htm Dana

I believe the DTP did it for my son too. I am very sorry you have such problems... Try supplements, see what works for him. Did you think about trying the 5HTP? Also, try digestive enzymes. Houston enzymes are really worth the money. Valentina
