Guest guest
I have NO experience with DMPS in any form or with TD chelators of any sort. I have only used oral chelators. Guest guest
Not to beat a dead horse, but I agree with the other posters who suggested that you switch doctors. You want your child to get better, not worse. Anne > > We had our first doctor's appointment yesterday to discuss mercury > detox for our 4yr PDD-NOS daughter. Guest guest
Melinda, The NDF plus will make your child worse. I know this from personal experience and the experience that others have shared with me. DMPS must be dosed every 8 h or more frequently in small doses. Otherwise it will redistribute mercury and other metals and make the person worse. Applying 48 drops every other day will make your child much worse. Please don't do it. If you look in the archives here you will find that several parents have reported switching from the high dose every other day protocol, to low dose every 8 h. It sounds like you have made much progress with diet and supplements. I would add cod liver oil, zinc, vitamin e, vitamin b complex, milk thistle extract, molybdenum. It would not be good to use the copper containing supplement without knowing the copper status in your child. A hair test will tell you that, along with lots of other useful information. http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/HOW_TO_hair_test.html Best of luck J > > We had our first doctor's appointment yesterday to discuss mercury > detox for our 4yr PDD-NOS daughter. Guest guest
Melinda, I see you've been given some advice I happen to agree with: dump that doctor. This is why I say that: The dose of the chelator is huge unless your daughter happens to be gigantic, which I doubt. The dosing schedule (every other day) is one most people here think is unwise in that it allows for redistribution. The multi you're using contains copper--generally a bad idea for most ASD kids who are high copper, low zinc. Your doctor, if he wasn't in a rush, should have addressed that with you. The supplements you use during chelation are important. Not supplementing well can mean very uncomfortable chelation--a multi is rarely enough. Not sure why a hair test would be something to be considered later on. It doesn't hurt and it can give you a ton of useful information to make better decisions about treatments. He was rushed. Your daughter's health can't afford a rushed doctor. Hearing all of us say this must be disheartening, to say the least. However, there is much you can do while looking for a better doctor. Order your own hair test. Get supplements up to speed (see files section under Supplements--end of file). Start chelation every 8 hours at a very low dosage. People here can help. Best wishes, Anita > > We had our first doctor's appointment yesterday to discuss mercury > detox for our 4yr PDD-NOS daughter. Guest guest
I just want to back up here. I know of several people, one girl in particular, that has been bedridden for 2 years after doing NDF+. I have been trying to get well since last June when I accidentally took NDF+ instead of NDF. NDF+ has live probiotics and when swallowed can break the cell wall of candida in the stomach and methylate it. I have gotten progressively worse since then, pain and buring all over, loss of coordination, tunnel vision, seizures, loss of muscle control, etc. Only doing the DMSA every 3-4 hours has started to turn things around, and it's taken 4 rounds of it (a week each) to see some improvement. In my experience you can ONLY take NDF or NDF+ when your urine ph is below your saliva ph, and then you should only try NDF, and then only a single drop. Usually you can tell even doing a single drop the effect in 10 minutes. If I were dead set on trying NDF+, I would not under any circumstances swallow it. I would just do a drop under my tongue, as that targets the blood first. When I started having seizures I would try NDF+, which would stop them for an hour or so, and then they would come back worse. Also that feeling of recirculating metals that is very common (where your heart beats hard or erratically, and you feel waves of vibration or electricity in your body) NDF+ would clear for 30 minutes and then it would come back twice as bad. Guest guest
Melinda, As may have already heard that dose and protocol prescribed seems way out of range. We are not using DMPS but we are using DMSA/ALA (Andy's low dose protocol) for almost a year now, and we are still seeing great progress with every round. But would like to comment from what I believe most are doing from what I have read. (anyone please correct me if I may be wrong) Most people pretty much are taking that original 48 drops with the every other day protocol and dividing it half which would be 24 drops per day dividing it by 3 doses every 8 hours . Which would = 8 drops 3 times daily for 3 days on 4 days off. That would be the MAXIMUM dose. I would like to mention that that is at the upper range if im not mistaken most start off with more like 2-3 drops per dose and work their way up. You don't need much of a chelator to pull metals out of the body it is the frequency of the dose that is more important than the amount of dose. Please consider what most here are saying .Like I said we are doing a low dose and still seeing gains with every round.
