Yes, would second Anne's suggestion to post the results to the board. There are

people there who are waaay more knowledgeable than I and have been at this for

many, many years.

Sorry to butt in here, but there is no question your son's Free T3

is too low. This happened to my son too. I, too, was furious that

this had been missed on his prior labs. It was even missed by

people on this board when I posted the results, but I can't really

be mad about that! I don't think we all knew the implications of

this really until Andy piped up on the issue. It is difficult when

the labs routinely give the wrong reference ranges..... I think

discussion on this issue has been more intense recently, and that is

a very very good thing. I am convinced that these should be among

the very first tests that are run on these kiddos, and that people

should be aware of how to interpret them, as the doctors are not.

I am sure that has told you that you will want to get Armour

Thyroid. If you can't find someone to Rx this for you, there are

other ways to accomplish this. FWIW, my son had a good growth spurt

after we started the Armour. We also have my son on adrenal cortex

extract to support his adrenals.

There is a good (though incredibly high volume) listserve

called naturalthyroid (or something close to that) that

recommended to me. The listmembers and archives have been very

helpful to me, though is still one of the best resources as

far as I am concerned. Sorry if any of this is redundant. I just

don't want it to take you as long as it has taken me to get where

you need to be on this very important issue.

Hi Anne,

I am just in tears because I have KNOWN in my gut that this was a

big problem so long but couldn't get anyone to help me. Once we get

the test done, I will need to have some help to educate my DAN on

the proper ranges. Did your son have any improvements in his

cognitive area? I may even be able to convince a friend to write me

an rx for him/me, but I don't know that she will know how to dose

it. I know this could be a blessing in disguise, but I am so upset

right now. I just hope permanent damage hasn't been done. Thank
