Guest guest
I got the wrong test too, the first time. If you ***phone Doctors Data on Monday*** with the name, sample number, and so on and tell them that either the doctor made a mistake and ordered the wrong test or DDI ran the wrong test, it is possible that they will still have the hair sample and will be able to run the right test (hopefully for no charge). I think that they keep the samples for a month. By the time I figured all this out and phoned my sample was long gone and I had to pay for the right test. I can't remember how long it took to get the test results. Good Luck J > > Can someone please tell me if the Hair Toxic Element Exposure test has any value at all for my son? > > I had my doctor order the hair elements test from Doctor's Data for my middle son, got it in and sent in the hair. I just got the hair test back from the doctor's office and he ordered the wrong test!!! I had a real struggle to get the test sent to his office and was blaming it on the doctor's office, has anyone had trouble getting the test kit or results in a timely manner from Doctor's Data? It took almost 3 months to get the kit, then the results were supposedly sent to my doctor's office on December 20th, and they still haven't received it. I called Doctor's Data this afternoon, had Doctor's Data fax it to the doctor, and finally, after SO long, I have the wrong test in my hands!! I am SO depressed! > > My doctor ordered the Hair Toxic Element Exposure test instead of the Hair Element test. Is this a complete waste of money? I am raising my 3 sons on pretty much nothing. Now I have to do another test for the same kid. We have another kit at the doctor's office that I was going to use on my oldest son, so at least I can get it sent off fairly quickly once I can afford to pay for it. Who knows when my oldest son will get one, but my middle son is in crisis with his ADHD, just really extreme physically and emotionally, and conventional medicine has made him worse except for the first 3-4 hours he's medicated, so I have to figure out something else for him before I lose him altogether. > > Thanks, and sorry for the whine, it was pretty controlled considering what I'm feeling right now. :-( > > McSeveney > Baytown, TX
Guest guest
, You can order the Doctor's Data Hair Elements Test yourself through http://www.directlabs.com. The kit comes promptly. The results have been back to us in less that 2 weeks. Your doc can order it for $42; what does he charge you for this mess!! Dir Labs will charge you about $79, a discount if you mention this list; if you don't mention the list, the cost is about $92 now. Would your doc let YOU call Doctor's Data to get the correct test ordered and sent to his office? It can also be done that way.. Guest guest
Thanks, , I am betting the doctor asked for the wrong test, though. He has no clue about this test and was doing this only because I was asking for it. I don't have the original request. Now I am wishing I had made a copy, but I was so excited to finally get it sent that I just rushed it to the mailbox. I will definitely ask about that on Monday. I am wondering how to afford the chelating agents and supplements without having to do the test over again. I have two sons who got all their vax between 1995 and 1999. They also got a yearly flu shot until last year, when I started just washing hands. I used to be such a lemming, but learning about all this has really opened my eyes and I am so disillusioned with the medical community and our government now. I'll never again assume any doctor knows what they're talking about without researching things myself. Anyway, thanks so much for that great tip!! Guest guest
, I have my kids on Medicaid, so the doctor's visits are paid for. It cost me $46. My doctor's office has basically dropped the ball all the way around on this test, mostly I believe because i am asking for it instead of them ordering it, but I can't complain too much. At least my doctor is listening to me. When I gathered up my courage and spilled my guts about all this in the first place, he didn't bat an eye. Just told me I had valid concerns and that he would support whatever route I wanted to take and keep an eye on Hunter through the chelation process I chose. I think it's the nurses who are being a pain, actually. I have to make ALL the calls to the lab, hound everyone, it's a worthwhile struggle. Thanks so very much for your help! Guest guest
It won't help with counting rules but may give you some info about other toxic metals (arsenic, antimony, lead, etc). Sounds like the doc may have put off ordering the test and not told you. As others have mentioned, try calling DDI and see if they still have the hair sample. Guest guest
Moria, I know, I know. I am so lucky to fall into the hands of a doctor who, while he doesn't have a clue what I'm up to, is willing to work with me. I'm fairly certain he checked the wrong test on the request. After all the stories I have heard, and the reactions of other doctors I've mentioned this to since, I realize exactly how lucky I am to have this guy regardless of his level of knowledge. I don't know whether he even really believes it all as much as I do! I've managed to get myself back on track. When I wrote this afternoon, I was freshly reeling from the discovery that we had the wrong results. In the grand scheme of my life and my son's, this is a molehill. Thanks for pointing out the positive, you're right! :-) McSeveney Baytown, TX ----- Original Message ----- that sounds truely fabulous! (well, not the part about the wrong test....) Guest guest
I had this happen with GPL and they still continued to bill me for it. They gave me the results for a 1 year old my son was almost 3. Very frustrating, I was never given the correct results. I have not used them again. just adding my gripe!
