Guest guest
Equating oral dosing and transdermal dosing is not valid, I assume. In the following I am talking about oral doses and you are talking about transdermal doses. You are giving 48 mgs/8 hours according to your post. Andy's protocol is found here: http://home.earthlink.net/~moriam/Andy_dose_sched.html Andy's maximum oral dose of DMSA would be 17 mgs/4 hours for a 35 lb. child. According to Andy, if you are giving a dose every 8 hours, you are NOT following Andy's protocol. According to Andy, you must dose DMSA every 4 hours. The dosage amount is not as important as the dose frequency. The dosage you are giving is HIGH on Andy's protocal. On Andy's protocol the correct oral dose would be from 4 to 17 mgs/ 4 hours. \ --- Shepard Salzer <_Shepard@...> wrote: > > > Not Andy here, but what did his hair test show? > High lead or meet counting rules for mercury > toxicity? > S S > > > > > From: NADIA FIORE [mailto: nadiafiore@...] > > Date: Thu, 22 Dec 2005 10:19:56 -0500 (EST) > Subject: [ ] DMSA dosing > >

> > > > Hi Dr. Cutler,
>
> I am currently seeing a DAN doctor and have my 4 > year old who wieghs
> 35lbs on TD-DMSA. Any good reason or is this a fad? 99% of kids are fine with oral. > His current dosage is .16ml 300mg/ml OK > every 8 hours Not OK. > 3 days on 11 days off. Does this dosage sound right to you and if ASD > children are responders, how long after beginning the protocol should > we expect to see gains. You can only expect gains if you do it right. say 5-10 mg of DMSA by MOUTH every FOUR hours for 3 days on 11 off. You should see a response within 5 cycles (10 weeks). Get a hair test too, it isn't very expensive and can be quite informative. > Do gains sometimes occur after a many rounds > or should it be immediate? The most common thing WITH PROPER CHELATION is within a round or 2, but there are delayed responses. With improper protocols, all bets are off. > I, along with all parents, appreciate all your doing to help our kids. Thank you. > Without this kind of hope all we would have left is despair. Don't despair, because if you give up your child's hope is lost. If you keep muddling through despite doubts, false starts and mistakes (e. g. going to a DAN! doctor who uses an inappropriate protocol instead of the correct one) your child has hope of getting better. > Nadia Andy
Guest guest
I've chelated my 2 boys, now 7 & 10, off & on for maybe 5 yrs., more off than on. I've followed proper protocol (low dosing, every 3 - 4 hrs.) 3 days on, 11 off (at least). Both have always been quite high-functioning Asperger's. While I have seen very minor improvements over the years, I've never had that " Eureka " moment with either. I'm ready to investigate other avenues. What direction should I look? The main thing I'd like to address is the low muscle tone, poor motor skills, uncoordination, poor motor planning, in my oldest son. He's also very disorganized. You should see a response within 5 cycles (10 weeks). > Do gains sometimes occur after a many rounds > or should it be immediate? Guest guest
What did their hair tests show? Did you use DMSA, ALA, or both? What other interventions? Diet? Supplements? Probiotics? Antivirals? etc? S S I've chelated my 2 boys, now 7 & 10, off & on for maybe 5 yrs., more off
than on. Guest guest
Have they had PT, OT, or sensory integration? What physical activities do they participate in? Are there games they enjoy that might increase motor skills, etc? Does your oldest have mixed dominance (hand, foot, eye preference)? My Apserger's son made a real breakthrough with soccer after going back on EFAs (Nordic Naturals ProEFA) after not being able to tolerate them for a long time. Guest guest
We've stuck w/ DMSA & ALA, oral, in different combinations or individually. We are taking TMG/mB12/folinic acid orally, too. Am curious if the injections would be any different than oral. Re: [ ] Re: DMSA dosing Have you stayed with one chelator? We've switched chelators recently and seen some nice things. Also, the B12 shots have made a difference for us. Barb RE: [ ] Re: DMSA dosing > I've chelated my 2 boys, now 7 & 10, off & on for maybe 5 yrs., more off > than on. Guest guest
Antiviral is 1 of my next options. They already take creatine (2 - 5 g daily) & Nordic Naturals or Coromega. Interestingly, something recently caused a breast bud in BOTH boys (7 & 10). I suspect the creatine. This happen to anyone else?
