Guest guest
We are trying to build up our anti-yeast arsenal in the hopes of solving our son's ongoing constipation troubles and, of course, to get ready for chelation. Problem is, most of the antifungals we've tried so far (not many, admittedly) taste horrific. My son has some major sensory issues when it comes to food, it would seem. He cannot swallow pills. He will not take chewables (not sure that applies to antifungals anyhow). He will not eat nut butters and/or honey off a spoon, so that possibility is out. So we have to syringe stuff into him, and he is a big, strong boy -- aggressive, too -- so this means pinning him down, getting on top of him (gently), prying a syringe into his mouth, and letting gravity do its work. Right now we are trying nystatin (with lots of stevia), which requires 4X/day dosing. I can do these kinds of things in an acute situation, like when he has a fever, but knowing that this will be an ongoing battle.... It breaks my heart. I'm worried, actually, of what effects this kind of daily struggle will have on him psychologically. It is already taking a toll on our family life. BTW, he is getting more resistant (can't blame him), and he is not nearly verbal enough to understand bargaining or bribes. Barely understands praise. so I thought that rather than try everything (gets expensive), I could brainstorm with those of you who are seasoned Yeast Warriors. (By the way, he is GF/CF, soy free, peanut free, egg free, CITRUS FREE - no GSE) -I've heard Capryoil has no taste -a little while ago someone mentioned that oregano oil could be used transdermally on the feet -No Fenol -S. boulardii (Kirkman's catalogue says this can exacerbate constipation, though) -good probiotics (currently using Culturelle and ProbioGold) What else?? Thanks again Rene
Guest guest
Hi Rene, Have you heard of /tried Sekebal? - http://sekebal.com/ It's a gel which you spread over the soles of the feet [or hands] . Just use a tiny drop at a time and as well as addressing the Candida, it has many other advantages. I tried it with my son until he finally objected - he is 26 - and it just isn't 'cool' to be putting stuff on your feet every night! We noticed quite an improvement in his behaviour, thinking processes and conversation while he was using it. He also didn't have to follow an anti-Candida diet while he used this product. Here is another site which describes what it contains and what it does - scroll down to page 2. It is made in UK and postage to the States is £3.50 and it lasts for months. Hope this helps.
