Guest guest
Hi dana, It's all the same... you test for antibodies to a virus lets say rubeola for now...... IgG IgM IgA whatever... say the ref range is 0-100 & your child tests at 568... that number is his titre... & at 568 you can then say my child has very high viral titres for rubeola.. about 300-350 would be high Xena I don't believe a " titers " test is the same as a viral panel. > > I was wondering about this. Do you know how they're different? > I don't know much about tests, but I think the titers test is testing for antibodies? But the " other virus tests " are testing for presence of the viruses? Not sure, but maybe. Anyway, I have never heard of testing titers for any viruses other than those for which there are vaccines. I have never read information about testing titers for herpes, only titers for the viruses addressed by vaccines. Would you also have a titers test to test for antibodies for herpes virus? Or are you testing for something else that tells you there is herpes virus present? DAna
