Yeast can cause this, consider increasing the probiotics and/or add an active yeast killer, see if that helps. Dana

Guest guest
For my son, we have seen that the gas is associated with yeast and increase in gut issues. I am talking about farts 2-5 seconds in length and really loud every 30 mins or so. He is on Vitamins & Minerals (Brainchild), probiotics, ca/mg , CLO, enzymes, Zinc, Carnosine and Custom Amino Acids. I cannot pin- point to when it started but i can roughly say it got worse with the amino acids (not sure though). Offlate its come to a point where people are turning around and asking if he is fine and what i fed him . He seems to be in no pain because of this . His bowel movements are normal and he is happy and steadily showing signs of improvement . He is on bio-med for the last 6 months and this problem has increased slowly since he started on the medicines to the point where we are getting very concerned. Any ideas . Is it common ? I asked my pediatrician and she said its okay as long as he is fine and active but its getting me worried. Thanks in Advance for the help Regards, Kavitha
Guest guest
Excess gas went away when we took gluten out of his diet. Guest guest
I have not had good success with devrom in my patients who have tried it. However I have had very good luck with a probiotic especially one that is a mixture of bacteria and contains both acidophilus and bifidobacterium strains Diane Olson MS RD CDE UW Health Bariatric Surgery Program University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics (608) 265-1718 dolson3@... -----Original Message-----From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of jbship@...Sent: Tuesday, February 16, 2010 1:36 PM Subject: Re: Excessive Gas In addition to sugar alcohols, lactose and even gluten could be factors. There are simply undigested food particles lower in the GI track on which the bacteria feed. Probiotics might help, regular bowel program, Gas-Ex, etc. I usually ask them if the issue is the sound or the smell, mostly it is the latter. In these cases, a product like Devrom (google it) that is used for ostomy patients and is and "internal" deoderant might help. Guest guest
Hi, , Tia's gas problems sound much more serious than mine. But, I do take Omeprazole every single morning because of gas and gurd. If I didn't take it, within two to three hours, I'd be in bad pain. I have severe esophagitis and my doctor and I are on the look-out for Barrett's all the time. Ever since I made it a habit to take the Omeprazole, my stomach and esophagus have been in really pretty good shape. Best of wishes with this problem, Deborah, still at the beach
