Guest guest
Welcome to the list. Does he have ANY mercury amalgam dental fillings? Guest guest
Sounds to me like he needs iodine big time. There is a message here (http://www.mastermindresearch.com) called mercury_msg.pdf that talks about iodine. Also there are 2 messages about iodine supplement here 2. Personally for supplementation I like Iodoral, Lugols, and Thyrodine (a supplement I get from greenwillowtree.com). The short version is that Iodine and is fundamental to every digestive, cellular, and endocrine process in the body. They used to paint tonsils with lugol's iodine when they got infected, and that is actually how the body protects the tonsils and neutralizes toxins and makes foods non-allergic. Here's a short comment I pulled from a message I sent to T.Ray of Bioray about iodine: Iodine is absorbed and secreted in ALL areas of the digestive track, saliva, mouth, stomach, small intestine, etc). One effect of iodine is being able to rearrange and digest starches. It can coat them to make them biocompatible and non-allergic to each progressive stage of the digestive process, and is especially important for absorption in the small intestine. Not enough will cause mucous to buildup and all kinds of autoimmune food reactions. Lack of it shows up worse here because stronger secretions available here can compensate for poor digestion in the stomach. Also correcting a lack of iodine will dissolve mucous buildup in the SI and once again make it function. One things is for certain, you can eat all the white bread you want if iodine function is good. The need for iodine in the digestive tract is detected by the tonsils, appendix, villi, adnoids, etc and they also secrete iodine when needed. I believe this is either a sign of a virus or there must be an infection somewhere in his body. His body is reacting to something... Does he have any other lymph glands that are swollen? How long did he have this? When my son was small, he had swolen limph glands for years. I never knew why. They went away with chelation. Guest guest
No mercury amalgam dental fillings? However, the DAN doctor believes my Rh neg, dental fillings and history may be the problem. I believe DDI is Doctor's Data? He has not had any hair testing. I do give a probiotic but not every day. There is so much stuff to remember. As far as foods, he likes milk and cheese and sweets. I have eliminated dairy milk and only give him soy milk. And, he only gets cheese once in a while. I feel he craves sweets, but he will go a while without eating and it's not like he's always wanting something to eat. He doesn't like bread. I've never heard of NAET. I'll check into it but could you give me a brief description? Thanks for your help. > > > Please excuse me if this seems dumb. Guest guest
I felt his head, neck, arm pits and groin but couldn't find but one node and it didn't feel big. I've never look at the size before last year when I took him to the ENT. Since then every doctor that I mention the tonsils to says they are big (size 3+, 4 is touching). No one every mentioned them before. I've felt that an infection may be present but nothing has shown up, but yeast. What kind of chelation have you done. His doctor is not doing any chelation. Thanks. > > > I need someone's opinion if the tonsils and adenoids could be > > related to his gut and if so how I can fix the problem. > > I believe this is either a sign of a virus or there must be an infection > somewhere in his body. Guest guest
Oh my heavens I just made a connection. My son is 3 1/2 and had two small pea size lymph nodes on the side of his neck. We noticed them a few months back and had them checked out. The doctor said he probably had a cold that set them off and in some kids they stay enlarged. As long as it didn't change or get bigger not to worry. Hmmm, from what I know of how the body works, lymph glands filter out unwanted's in the body. Since my son has not been sick since last December, they should have gone away. I have had many doctors tell me that my tonsills are very large. Do I have trouble swallowing, etc. I now know that mine are enlarged from daily mercury exposure through amalgams. So I wonder...could be gut, could be something. I am sorry this is not much help, just though it would help to know, others of us have " mysteries " like this too. Perhaps metal is the link for his lymph nodes? > > > > > I need someone's opinion if the tonsils and adenoids could be > > > related to his gut and if so how I can fix the problem. > > > > I believe this is either a sign of a virus or there must be an > infection > > somewhere in his body. Guest guest
Has he been tested for metals? ADHD is more along the lines of what my kids have. They both recieved metal from my fillings and their vaccines. So far, they have not shown any delay in learning, but socially they have a hard time. And they show the hyperactivity and moodiness associated with mercury. I know the rhogam shots had quite a bit of mercury up until a year or so ago. Very possible they have mercury loads that are interferring with things. I think I send another reply to you also, about my sons glands and my tonsils. Keep looking for answers, it's gotta be somewhere! > > > > > > Please excuse me if this seems dumb. Guest guest
Just to add our experience, our son had a persistant very enlarged lymph node on the side of his neck for MONTHS (in our case, started out pea size and continued to grow to size of a kidney bean. I continued to check it each week). Pediatrician kept telling us " no big deal " . We finally got annoyed and demanded he send us to an ENT. Turns out our kid had infected aednoids and huge infected tonsils. Both had to come out immediately. Our pediatrician had no idea. Just from personal experience, keep an eye on the lymph nodes just in case. He did not run fevers nor did he show outside symptoms. (Of coarse he had autism, so I guess there were actually many symptoms there, we just didn't know it). > > > My NT son has very large tonsils, my ASD son has " normal " size tonsils.
>
> FWIW
>
>
> > > _______________________________________________ > Join Excite! - http://www.excite.com > The most personalized portal on the Web! >
Guest guest
Hi Folks, Thought you might like to see this iodine related message I posted in the mercury-autism group. Cheers, , It isn't commonly known, but my research indicates the NT son's tonsils are larger because he has better iodine storage there. In the presence of mercury more iodine stores are required for a healthy body. That is why healthy NT "indigo" children have larger livers, heads, etc. If it were me I would drink a few drops of lugol's or cayce type iodine every day in a little water (or salt water), and I would gargle with Lugol's just like they did in the old days. I get my lugols from store.com, and you can get cayce type iodine from http://www.iodinesource.com/Products.asp But be aware iodine will cause more metals to be mobilized, so if you are chelating you may have to slightly increase the dose of your chelators. Here is a paragraph from and old 1920's medical manual. "Recurrent tonsillitis can usually be controlled in one day by one general treatment to free up elimination followed by enema, etc., and then two other internal throat treatments. Order gargle of Lugol’s solution, 10 drops to half a glass of water every two hours. Lugol’s solution is a “Compound Solution of Iodine.” It is an aqueous solution of 5% of iodine and 10% of potassium iodide, and should be in the office of every physician who is doing nose and throat work. Irrigate the throat with about two quarts of normal saline at a temperature of about 110, twice or three times daily, and irrigate the nose with same quantity of normal saline, morning and evening. Give osteopathy a fair trial and the case will nearly always clear up." Here is part of a message I sent to Tim Ray of Bioray about iodine: The short version is that Cayce was right and Iodine is fundamental to every digestive, cellular, and endocrine process in the body. It is the terrain from which our flesh has evolved, and a key component of how we process light for human "photosynthesis" and how we generate endothermic heat for regulating our temperature. Iodine is secreted in ****ALL**** areas of the digestive track, saliva, mouth, stomach, small intestine, etc) and it is stored in all the spongy gut tissue that surrounds the digestive tract (tonsils, thyroid, liver...). One effect of iodine is being able to rearrange and digest starches, and kill the bad infectious bugs. It is the human bodies strongest disinfectant. One of the most common problems seen with lack of iodine is that the tonsils will get inflamed. I need to write a better iodine message with current research but the message here called mercury_msg.pdf has more info about iodine that is accurate but not comprehensive at all. http://www.mastermindresearch.com/anonymous A couple of other notes. Cayce said all the body needed was salt, soda, water and iodine and it could produce everything else. He was damn close, the diatomic iodine colored chakra is at the top for a reason. 1. Iodine correction will need to be addressed at the same time as metal detox 2. Metal detox without iodine correction can leave lots of problems that would otherwise rapidly resolve. a. sensitivity to tap water, combined chlorines, chloramines that would otherwise be recycled properly. Iodine also restructures water. b. food allergies, autoimmune reactions c. seizures and motor stability d. brain lesions or other lesions caused by the metals that don't heal correctly. e. skin that doesn't look as young and healthy as it should f. sensitivity to EMF and geopathic stress g. decreased ability to handle stress, even if T3 levels seem ok, but the conversion to T3 while actually under stress is still impaired. Cheers, My NT son has very large tonsils, my ASD son has "normal" size tonsils.

FWIW

_______________________________________________Join Excite! - http://www.excite.comThe most personalized portal on the Web! Guest guest
I had huge tonsils my entire life. Sometimes they would shrink and when they did, I always felt better. I used to tell doctors this and of course they had quite a chuckle. I was sick for years. After being diagnosed Hypo/Hashi's and put on Armour, my tonsils shrunk some but it was not until I was put on Iodoral that they shrunk down to normal. I am not sure if the tonsils were big because the goiter was pushing on everything in my neck (I could feel everything when I swallowed) or due to a lack of iodine or both. > > , It isn't commonly known, but my research indicates the NT son's > tonsils are larger because he has better iodine storage there. Guest guest
Yep, a better concentration of biocompatible nutrients, including iodine, will cause them to shrink. My comment about being larger in the new breed of "mercury toxic" children was because they seem to need bigger stores to offset their burden of mercury. Too bad the doctors didn't believe you, they could have learned something. I had a lot of mercury at birth, and my tonsils and liver were huge compared to most, but my iodine was very high too (temp always ran 100 or higher). When I was exposed to more mercury they got bigger, when I took more iodine they got smaller. In 48 years though, I have still never had a single color or flu. Guest guest
I think mercury has something to do with it. The DAN doctor thinks he has mercury issues but has not tested and has not suggested how to get it out. I had someone look at his tongue last week and said that the red spots on top of his tongue (looks like larger taste buds to me) and these vein-like things running towards the two main veins under the tongue suggest metal issues. I've looked at my husband who is pretty healthy and my younger son and they don't really have it. Also, my tongue has it some and I know I have some mercury issues. I've inquired about this from others who say that sounds right. I'm seeing that lady again today and will ask more specifics as far as treating. Does anyone have a suggestion on how I can start getting the mercury out of my son myself? Herbs? Minerals? Thanks for everyone's help. > > > > > > > I need someone's opinion if the tonsils and adenoids could be > > > > related to his gut and if so how I can fix the problem. > > > > > > I believe this is either a sign of a virus or there must be an > > infection > > > somewhere in his body. Guest guest
I took both boys to her July 05 for ADHD and bowel issues and both have an unspecified metabolic disorder. She did an organic acid urine test (Great Plains Lab) and we went from there. She has not officially diagnosed either boy, but suspect the oldest is ADHD and the youngest is high functioning autism. Over the months she has Rx... MB12 glutathione cream Vit C P5P w/magnesium folinic acid CoQ10 zinc probiotics cod liver oil Diflucan She has a hyperbaric oxygen tank in her office and I thought I would ask about that next time. She had mentioned testing baby hair and gave me the tests when requested but she has never brought it up again. She also went from seeing them every 6 weeks to every 3 months. I can't find my sons baby hair because we recently moved. I asked earlier about ideas I could use to chelate them myself. I'll check out your suggestions. Thanks. > > > > > > > > > I need someone's opinion if the tonsils and adenoids could be > > > > > related to his gut and if so how I can fix the problem. > > > > > > > > I believe this is either a sign of a virus or there must be an > > > infection > > > > somewhere in his body. Guest guest
Some of the above posted supplements are probably chelators, but I'm not sure which ones are. When I think of chelators, I think of something very strong like an oxygen tank. The DAN doctor has never used the word " chelate " during our visits. Please correct my thinking with regards to chelation. > > > > > > > > > > > I need someone's opinion if the tonsils and adenoids > could be > > > > > > related to his gut and if so how I can fix the problem. > > > > > > > > > > I believe this is either a sign of a virus or there must > be an > > > > infection > > > > > somewhere in his body. Guest guest
Could it be some type of chemical sensitivity? My sons would get enlarged glands and very sore throats and it took me a long time to figure out it was my cleaners. Also, a woman down the street's son started a new school and he wound up with Kawasaki syndrome, where the lymphs around the neck get swollen sometimes the eyes get bloodshot and he developed a rash. She was fortunate because we have the Kawasaki expert for the U.S. in california and it was diagnosed early. She was able to help with gamma globulin ivs. You may want to see if they can at least screen him for it. For her son, they just went by symptoms and then checked his SED rate for inflammation. They made the dx and started treatment and he does great. She still has to watch it with chemicals though and has moved him to an older school with tile floors. Guest guest
Make sure to get the hair elements test from DDI (Doctor's Data, Inc.) and apply the counting rules. Guest guest
Hi btm66 Sorry, no, the supplements you've been given are not chelators. Chelators must have two or more thiol groups in the same molecule in order to hold mercury well enough to escort it out of the body. They must be used with care on a proper shedule in order to work effectively and safely. The ones most often used by people on this list are ALA, DMSA, and DMPS. Please take a look at the files of Autism Mercury for more information on chelators, the propler dose and timing, necessary supplements, and how to test for mercury and other toxins. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy does ohter things to repair the brain (not an HBOT expert, so a little fuzzy on this :-)), but it is not a chelator either. take care René > > Some of the above posted supplements are probably chelators, but I'm > not sure which ones are.
